I don't mind but the truth is soon as Leafs are mentioned Walshy and Clarkson are here replying within three minutes.

When guys who claim to be Canucks fans starting posting leafs related material or commenting on leafs goings on or someone expresses interest in knowing how freddie andersen will do this season in net for the leafs.... then it's fair game for a leafs fan and their dog to show up...

As I said in last nights conversation, this is the Canucks fans thread, it should be fair game to talk about anything hockey related we want to.

Vantel, this is a direct quote from Walshy....he likes that he feels more intelligent in here.

Still don't mind him.

He thinks he is smarter but he also thinks Leafs have 3 of the 7 best prospects. Nough said

I've got into it with him a few times as well, I still think he's a pretty good guy.

Edit: and for the record, I think they have three of the top seven prospects as well, in terms of pure skill. I would love to have Marner, Matthews & Nylander in our system, without getting rid of any of our kids.

I am sure a lot has been said about me over there but I could care less. I never go there. If they get butthurt by a joke about their team they should probably stay there.

You are always welcome here my friend . Even if Scoobs won't let you in the hockey pool.

I don't mind Walshy or Clarkson but these stupid polls are mind numbing.

I don't care if it's Button Dreger or Bob Mackenzie , but any one who puts the 30 th place team and says they have the best coach and top management is dumb.

Of course of the entire league Leafs have 3 , not one but 3 of the best players in the world in their system

You have to understand how annoying and stupid it sounds to us here.

Nothing wrong with liking your prospects but keep it in the Leaf thread , not here.

IMO if Nylander was really that top end he would have already played a full year in the NHL like other top end prospects

Anyways as I said there are a bunch of you that are good guys.

- VANTEL

Vantel, you know I love you man, but has a Leafs fan ever initiated a conversation here about our prospects except to troll, and I throw out the trolling because it works both ways.

Leafs fans respond to Leafs discussion. From what I have seen, Leafs discussion on Vancouver threads starts with Vancouver fans. Many of you guys are obsessed with the Leafs. That can't be good.

To be fair to me Vantel, it's not as if I have to plough through pages and pages of comments to find the one that mentions the Leafs.

Both fan bases care way too much about how they are perceived. Who really gives a sh!t?

But arguing about 3rd hand opinions about kids who are yet to play a game pretty much takes the cake on the inanity and insanity fest better known as hockey buzz.

Yeah, it'd be nice to continue in the pool with you guys, but if it's a brand new pool that he's put time into creating then it's his call.

As for Nylander, I really think that his size was always the concern. He was definitely undersized before (167lbs when drafted) but now he's up at 190lbs by the end of last season, so I think that we'll see him really start to break out this year. He'll also be moved to wing for now and played with Matthews (direct quote from BabRichard) so he'll have a real chance to succeed.

That said, you guys have a few nice prospects too. Bo looks like the real deal as a two-way centre, JV has all the tools but needs to just learn to be a bit more cerebral. Juolevi could potentially be one of the best in the league after a few years of seasoning, and Demko is definitely up there too

I also see them as having 3 of the top as well ...just because your a top prospect doesn't mean your going to the hall of fame ...but I'd rather have high end prospects to put my hopes on then hoping for late round miracles

you got that right.

At least it isn't speculating on where a free agent who has never played a game is going to sign.

The Sabres thread yesterday was the best thread of the summer.

I expect fan bases to like their prospects.

How well would it go over if I went in the Leafs thread and posted I think Juolevi Demko and Boeser are three of the best 10 prospects

I took McDavid second round last year and Eichel later on. I would have won were it not for the injury

No, I am not saying Matthews = McDavid.

If you are fed up with the Leafs, why bring it up. Vancouver fans are the ones who bring the Leafs into their own thread. I would think if you were fed up, you wouldn't be talking about them?

Well that was a fun read.

I didn't check out the rankings/ But I'd have Matthews over Laine purely based on his overall game and the fact he plays C. Plus, looks like Matthews will be low maintenance. Laine, not too sure yet. But really who cares about the rankings. Give me Matthews, Give me Laine, I wouldn't care.

I'd have Provorov ranked 3rd.

Were we really arguing over Gillies and Demko? Both really good goalies who havn't played a single nhl game. Gillies lost a year of development due to injury, but until then was a very highly touted prospect. Demko is as well.

Boeser is not "maybe" a 2nd liner. He has an elite shot and release. Breaking Oshie and Toews Freshmen records at UND and finishing a goal short of Parise I believe.

42gp 27g 33a 60pts

4 points in the NCAA final game on route to a Championship. Sounds like a clutch player to me.

His ceiling is a top line winger. Or top 6. I know he hasn't played a game in the nhl. But I'd bet anything he's more than "maybe" a 2nd liner.
