David Poile agrees..."we felt that PK Subban has a much higher degree of playing Dungeons and Corsi than Shea Weber does. Shea is a minus 563% in on ice dungeon suppression while PK is a plus 983%. This tells us that PK Subban is the best dungeons and corsi defenseman in the NHL while the declining Weber is no better than a #8 defenseman in todays Dungeons and Corsi NHL."

Yeah 3 cups in six years says Toews is overrated...plus the gold medals and WC hardware.

McDavid is already top 5 if not top 2 Was on a higher PPG than Kane last year for games played and if healthy this year should lead the league in scoring.

Wow dude...

- LordHumungous

For one toews is extremely overrated. Two with your logic we need to put Hossa and seabrook in because they have 3 cups. Keith has 3 cups, 2 golds, Conn Smythe Trophy, 2 Norris. Mant Keith should prolly be number one with your logic.

Mcdavid will be a great player but he is not top ten right now. he did not have higher ppg then kane and it wasnt even close. He would of had 20 points less then kane. my guess he will have around 80 points this year and finish top ten in points but that does not mean he will be 10 best player in the league. eventually he will be but not next year.

Trent Dilfer is a Super Bowl winning quarterback. Dan Marino isn't. Marino is in the hall of fame. Dilfer isn't. Einhorn is Finkel. Finkel is Einhorn. Oh God! Laces out Marino! I'm not sure but I believe Dilfer had the better Corsi and pass suppression.

Seabrook and Hossa as good as they are do not bring what Toews brings... a total complete game that very few in the league have...how you can't see that is weird. Plus the hardware to back it up. Triple gold..Olympics, WJHC, WHC, U17 you name it he has it. Plus the 3 cups in 6 seasons. Leadership qualities and a complete 200' game...and you wanna talk logic?

Mcdavid is another story. At one point in the season McDavid was on the exact same PPG pace as Kane if not higher. Kane finishes 106 pts in 82 games and McDavid finishes almost 50 points in 45 games. Maybe a 3-4 game point differential at best. If Mcdavid plays all 82 he is right close to 95-100 pts in his rookie year...right beside Kane. And with McDavids upside now he should easily surpass Kane and the likes of Crosby and such for yearly point totals. I have McDavid easily over 95 pts this season if healthy if not at around 110. Kane will drop off. Oilers have a diffrerent dymanic now with Lucic and Pulijarrvi there. Big upside for Mcdavid.

And here I am defending Toews as a Canucks fan but to me it's pretty logical that he is a top 5 all round complete player in the league. To suggest otherwise is just...odd.

But believe what you like man.

You're incorrect. I did not reply to the original poster, I replied to your comment which was

"Neither are better all-around than Karlsson. They may not be far off, but they're not better.
- Rinosaur

If Karlsson is not an all around defenseman, then he's simply not a better all around defenseman, then really anyone who might be considered an all around defenseman. Karlsson's value is that he is the best defenseman, in the league with the puck. In my opinion both Subban, and especially Pietrangelo, are better defensively. So you obviously didn't get the point being made there. If you want to say he's a better player because of how good he is offensively and with the puck, fine, but he's not an all around player. That's a pretty clear distinction.

Ovechkin puts up a lot of goals, yet nobody ever mentions how many shots he puts on net.

Taking a look at shooting percentages, Ovechkin only ranks 44th for career shooting percentage among active players.

http://www.hockey-referen...ders/shot_pct_active.html

His defense has improved, but is still lacking.

Without so many shots on net, he's good, but, in my mind, not the "elite goal scorer" that is constantly thrown out there. And wouldn't even be ranked as high as 11 in my list of the best players...

You're flat out wrong. Your making a ridiculous argument and again havent grasped my point.

The other poster stated that Pietrangelo and Subban are better than Karlsson to which you replied that neither is as good all around as Karlsson. My point is that the reason why Karlsson is better is because of his offensive dominance, not because of his all around play. I'll reiterate that in my opinion Karlsson is not an all around defenseman. That is my point. What don't you get?
