Ok, so I was listening to the TSN Edmonton radio this afternoon. jason Gregor had an interview with Taylor Hall. He asked him point blank "when your current contract is up, would you consider resigning with the Oilers. Without pause he replied "no.'
So, it got me thinking. His contract is up in 4 years. Would he want to come play in CGY as a UFA? By then guys like Brouwer and Frolik will be done their contracts. Would you want him to play here? How much would you be willing to pay him? Could we fit his contract in and how would lines potentially shape up if you use current players and prospects? |

"No."
We'll be up to our eyes in salary, but I would love to have him on board. |

I am shocked no one has signed Nakladal. He is an NHL Dman that would be great on a bottom pairing. - DuranDuran
Every team in the league has defencemen that could be bottom pairing players on their AHL teams and the Flames are no different. If he wants more than the minimum what's the point of paying him before you see where your current crop is at? |

Gregor: I’ve had many Oilers fans wonder, and I realize it’s a long ways away, but when you’re a UFA in four years would you contemplate signing in Edmonton?
Hall: No, I don’t think that I would.
Gregor: I’ve always appreciated you’re very honest and rather than give the sit on the fence answer you’ll answer directly. I appreciate that.
Hall: Right now my focus is Jersey and playing my four years there, but I don’t think that I would come back.
Gregor: I often talk on the show that once you break up rarely does it work out when you try it the second time again. Is that kind of how you would see it with the Oilers?
Hall: Yeah, I think that that is a good analogy. I think I gave it a good run and I don’t have any regrets about what happened, but I certainly think that I’m focused on what I can do in Jersey, its’ so far away but I don’t think that. Maybe if something comes up I’ll change my mind, but I don’t think so. I did my time there and it’s time to move on.

I did my time... awesome, that's as close to equating playing for the Oilers to serving a prison sentence. I think I just gained a little respect for Hall.

Higgins sucks waste - K-man25
Yeah...you have such great options on your 3-4 lines right now. Higgins may be winding down but he for sure can score 8-12 goals on your 4th line...and play the PK very well.
You guys let Jooris and Colborne walk...make your bed... |

I think Higgins is here just for pre season ...that's all ...to cover the vet quota
Maybe he sticks and we trade him to Boston at the deadline for a 2nd

So, why did you guys dump him in the AHL and then buy him out? Oh, was it for the 3 whole goals he scored playing in your middle 6? Give me a break. Like you know anything about our team. |
