Probably because they knowingly signed up for a dangerous job.

But it's not that dangerous. The most dangerous jobs in America are: fishing, logging, pilots, farmers and ranchers, miners, roofers, garbage collectors, drivers, industrial machinery installation/maintenance, and down there at number 10 cops. A job where you're likely to be assaulted. If a cashier at a grocery store gets assaulted then there's outrage. If a crossing guard gets assaulted then there's outrage, but if a cop gets assaulted, well that's just the dangers of the job. If they get killed that's a different story. Then there absolutely is outrage.

- Wetbandit1

That also has a ridiculous amount of perks.

It's a dangerous job, and a great one if you are able to do it

Okay so since he grew up in a rich area he doesn't have the right to protest? You're upbringing or color doesn'r matter....

And being a police office is dangerous, but they signed up for it. Unarmed blacked teens, didn't sign up to be black and shot out, in several cases, no reason.

- Mentalorgasm5

One case...

There are several more where the black man was armed and shot at a police officer or attempted to take said officers gun...

Here is the simple solution that would eliminate almost all (I said almost because some people are still bumholes cop and non cops) violence. DON'T BREAK THE (frank)ING LAW.

But people are too stupid for that. I am sorry I don't feel bad for criminals (no matter the color) who get violent with police and bad things happen to them.

Here's a fact more white people are shot and killed by police every year than blacks...where is the outrage there?

The enlistment oath, as the its title denotes is different for enlisted and officers.

That kid has the right to be an unappreciative idiot and take crazy stances. But since he did so as a public figure he must also endure the public backlash.

Of course people are quoting our oath at this time though many of them did not have the necessary courage or selfless service to sign up. Because had you fought in a war you would most likely have lost a brother and then you would grow a true appreciation for what freedom means. Also being in the crap holes of the world you again appreciate the country you reside. When you sit at a table in a garden drinkng chai with a man who lost legs and telling you thanks for being here and then goes on to describe outrages they witnessed being committed by Saddam and his sons. Little girls being snatched up in black cars and any father angry enough to stand up disappearing, never to be seen again.

- BluemanGuruu

it sounds as if you've served and if so, much respect...

that said both oaths point to supporting and defending the Constitution in the first sentence...

Oath of Enlistment:

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States...

Oath of Commissioned Officers:

I, _____, having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States...

Like Right Wing media confusing being ok with him protesting to calling him a hero?
- sbroads24

Funny its the liberal media calling him that...

Do a google search "Colin Kapernick a hero" and see what pops up...more liberal based

I sing both

I actually like the Canadians better. Ours is too bombastic and poetic, the Canadian one gives me the feeling that I want to go f$&@ something up.

- Mentalorgasm5

I do too. I'm an American, but I love Canada. Not saying I love it more then the USA, but what's not to like? I mean their Maple Syrup isn't any better and Tim Horton's gives you a completely BS sized coffee when you order a large. But having giving us the gift of Hockey and Lord Stanley's Cup, what's not to like? Hell, the Montreal women alone...

It's more than one case. And more unarmed black males are killed than unarmed white males.

The Canadian anthem sucks.

Believe it or not, we have a better one: The Maple Leaf Forever.

- Atomic Wedgie

Sorry when you say maple leaf forever, and I see Toronto, it comes across as a punishment rather than an anthem...

Those statistics don't take the action into consideration. In those eyes unarmed means no gun.

They don't consider attempting to take an officers gun...because technically they are unarmed.

They don't take into consideration trying to run an officer over because again no gun.

Some of those statistics don't even account for having a knife as being armed.

Out of respect for both countries, I will merely lip-synch both anthems.

Because I am tone-deaf.

No, seriously. My voice could break glass.

- Atomic Wedgie

Yeah me too. I do that whenever singing is required, even birthdays.

There are a lot more white people than there are blacks. That's why blacks are considered MINORITIES.

From a FOX news Consultant's organization:

Liberal media are misleading when they claim police kill young blacks at a rate of 9 or 10 times that of whites: police are killing young blacks at 2.3 times the rate that they kill young whites

That also means that young blacks put themselves in situations where police are needed 2.3 times more than young whites.

52% of all murders are committed by blacks yet they only make up 12% of the population. Statistics works both ways just like in hockey. Why is it that 12 percent of the population commit over half of the murders in this country? Because white people oppress them??

i dont like that we only use the first verse of the star spangled banner at sporting events. it ends with a question. and no, we shouldnt sing all 4 verses or just the 4th one. maybe god bless america is better. or jimi hendrix version at least, with no words.

That article is grossly misleading they are cherry picking stats that only include 15-19 year olds.

If police are needed, it's automatically a life threatening situation. Got it.

52% of all murders done by 12% of the population and you want to pick the half dozen times in the last decade an unarmed black man was killed at a traffic stop?

Or how bout no national anthems at sporting events, except maybe on special occasions. Wouldn't that make it more meaningful when it happens?

Im going to quote a different CK, Louis CK. "I'm not saying white is better, I'm just saying being white is better"

I've never had to worry about prosecution or intolerance thrown in my direction.
