Didn't lots of people have Granlund really high? I remember him being really hyped up
- ClarksonDavid

A few. He really loved him though.

Top 5, easily.

EDIT: Also for my list (and others) I forgot Rantanen. He should really be top 10, especially given his last season.

I think it helps that he's played 20 games and had success in them in the NHL.

It's good to hear, that organizations outside of the glass house, that is MLS&E, actually see the Leafs starting to grow as an organization. It seems like forever, since this team has had a full cupboard. Not that it's full, they're building an addition. With the elite first and second rounders in the system, this team could become elite, within 3 years. For the first time in decades, I have faith in the braintrust and believe that they're on the right track and have the forward thinking necessary, to make this team great.

Cmon' everyone knows nowadays with the league being more competitive, teams need 10 years for a rebuild. Senators are approaching their 7th year in rebuild and are finally a team that appears to be on the rise. They have young stars, which have been playing for a couple to a few years now. As good your prospects are evaluated, it takes a lot of time to develop a player. Three years is simply put unrealistic. Toronto will be a better team this year and will continue to improve. Depth cannot be measured for a team lacking veterans, leadership and playoff expertise. For Toronto's sake, depth can only be measured on paper with some iffs and doubts. Like any other team at the start of the rebuild, I would place them in the bottom third of the league for depth. ESPN is a joke of a website, they thought Sens were going to be a cup contender 3 years ago with Spezza as captain.

Ended up nabbing Nylander late in my fantasy draft last night. If he gets 45+ points it will be a steal.

Speaking of Finnish prospects. I'm still waiting for Berglund to emerge as the next Mats Sundin. He is 6'3 afterall.

Agreed. That combined with his numbers in the pros and his raw skill-set put him above others that have only had success in the junior leagues. That's why I put Matthews, Laine, Puljujarvi and Nylander top 4 - they've played against men and succeeded

First of all, learn to use paragraphs, this is hurting my eyes.

Second, 10 years to rebuild? Teams have turned things around before in a much, much shorter stint.

Third, in what world are the Sens a "team on the rise"? They've traded for older players (Phaneuf, Brassard) in a "win now mentality" without the team to do so.

Exactly. Have to consider likelyness to succeed in these rankings. And when you have played against men or better yet men in the NHL you've already proved you can handle it.

Edmonton sucked with bad managment and took a lot longer with their rebuild so now if you have good prospects and young players you are instantly an Edmonton don't you know jeez

Zeitsev is our best there, and he really has a good shot. Carrick isn't a true prospect, but projects okay. Dermott and Nielsen have good upside but lots of questions still. The rest are all unknowns.

For me, Philly is the team to beat on D prospect depth...

yes

There is no way the Ducks trade him, especially not for JVR who has astounding value among Toronto fans, and not all that much value anywhere else.

- Aetherial

Not much value anywhere else?
A top line winger on a great contract who has scored 178pts in the past 250 games....ya no value.
