Didn't put up a Conn Smythe performance that year. That season is just more evidence of the impact Pronger had on teams. Look at the Oilers, Ducks and Flyers pre and post Pronger. Every team went to a finals with him, and fell without him.

He had a sh1tty season that year, but had a decent playoffs and everyone started losing their sh1t over him... He signed a huge contract after, and has been a below average goalie... He has really only had one good season of hockey (2010-2011), three decent seasons, and then seven seasons where he has been below average. Overall, as a goalie, he is severely overrated.

fair points........ I just think any goalie that lifts the cup has to be good. But the main point was that the Hurricanes won without a true #D-man but Talbot is not on the level (atleast shown he is) as Ward was for those playoffs.

I think the Hurricanes really were an anomaly almost in that they didn't have a lot of overwhelming stars. E. Staal was a star..... and Rob B, but thats it. Other than that just a bunch of good players
