You're welcome.

For what it's worth, I would have said it even if the trade didn't go down, just like I keep saying Subban also belongs in that category.

- Scabeh

Big if true.

So was it a fair trade?

I must say, it was a great trade that acquired Seguin for the Bruins.

And a terrible one that gave him away.

I'm glad we don't get to face him anymore.

The Kessel trade was (frank)ing dumb luck just like Rask.

Such a trade will hinge on Murphy's Corsi.

Subban scored 3 (frank)ing goals last year.

Oh come on.

P.S. Can we keep the insults to a minimum everyone? I thought this conversation was going smoothly until now.

Replace Letang with Weber and I do not think the Pens win the cup. Honest opinion.

Yeah...those were the days. At least Subban is gone. Not like Weber is going to be a walk in the park to play against.

Weber scored something like 15 goals on the powerplay. I don't care when he scores, I just like that he scores.

Clearly something the Habs missed from Subban last year because he makes that huge wind up and misses the net.

Always hated that about him. He has such a good shot too...

Are you sure? Apparently his corsi says he is worse than a #7 defenseman.

And he goes to a team that was 25th in the league PP wise last season with lesser weapons and pooptier coaches.

I disagree, Weber is still one of the best out there and belongs in the Elite category.

But it's all been said before, we'll talk more about it during the season!

- Scabeh

Last year, Shea Weber had his:

Lowest minute totals in 6 years, lowest shot rate since 2008, fewest PIMS ever, fewest EV strength goals since 2008, Most PP goals ever, fewest takeaways since 2009 and fewest giveaways sine 2009.

His hits and blocked shot rates stayed about the same.

So he played less, shot the puck less, acquired the puck less, HAD the puck less, but blocked shots and hit people at about the same rate.

What does that tell you?

It’ll really be a good trade when he gets Nolan Patrick out of it too

Wait you're talking about Weber?

He's going to improve the powerplay for the Habs, I think that's a given.

Oh and having Kirk Muller back to handle the unit will help as well.

Both are elite D... as a Hab fan, I'm quite happy with the deal, I believe Weber makes them better and gives them a better chance to contend this year and for 4 more years after. They have 2 glaring holes to fill still before they can be part of the elite bunch, this off season as a whole was definitely a step in the right direction in my books
