Edmonton - Meh arena (though the new one looks awesome) but good fans. Watching a Leafs game there was great; arena was pretty much 50/50 so the atmosphere was great.

Calgary - Good atmosphere, but the arena is definitely in need of an overhaul. Or maybe they can just figure out that new one that's been in the works for yearzZZZZZ

San Jose - Nice arena, good fans. Atmosphere depends on the team and situation - saw a regular season game vs the Canes and the atmosphere was flat, but also got to see a playoff game vs. Nashville, and it was (frank)ing awesome.

Dallas - Hands down the best arena/atmosphere I've experienced. Great fans, top arena. Good selection of microbrew also, and at less than $10 a beer, which for sports was surprising...

I was in Raleigh hosting a presentation in Research Triangle Park about 10 years ago when we decided at noon it would be great see if we could tickets to Canes/Sabres
Our group of 14 got tickets together , one row directly behind the other with no problem.
The Canes won 1-0 in a boring game and I spent most of the night trying to explain offside, icing, delayed penalties etc to a bunch of Aussies, Japanese and a few locals.

I know they wanted to put one on the west side of downtown by the river, but who knows. Could maybe knock down the old Cannon's ballpark and build it out there?

The worst NHL arena experience?

Philips Arena, Atlanta. Empty seats as far as the eye can see, this weird wall of boxes on one side only, and an army of people outside with sob stories about needing money for the train to get back to their long lost relatives - I guess knowing that the only people that show up to the games are from out of town.
