I found the Saddledome to be so small... Rexall is weird, but i like those older buildings.. Ottawa is boring, MTL i hate that place..
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Yeah the Saddledome is kind of odd. The concourses are so small. They gotta upgrade that sucker soon though.

Rexall is garbage.

Winnipeg's building seats fewer than the rink in Saskatoon. Gonna have to do something about that.

Here's my list of places I've been:

Toronto (of course): No better place to watch a playoff game. The battles against Ottawa were franking epic

Montreal: great city to spend a weekend. Love that the arena is in the heart of it all

Ottawa: too franking far out. Sorry.

Buffalo: great fans. Seriously. Great time every time I go

Detroit: Meh. Mind you, I haven't been in over a decade, but there was nothing to do before or after. We went to a lame bar in Greektown.

Chicago: great city, but the arena itself was a let down.

San Jose: good times.

Vancouver: great city. Arena was just like every other arena (including the ACC).

New York Rangers: had real fun at this one - it was a Rangers/Philly game. Great location.

New York Islanders (Brooklyn): Thought I would hate it, or more accurately I wanted to hate it just to be a smug Leafs bastard. But it wasn't so bad. Great location - easy to take a train there.

New Jersey: never again.

Philly: location wasn't great, but on the subway line. Fans were fine.

Florida: Oh frank, what a horrible location. In the middle of no where. If you are wondering why this franchise will always be borderline bankrupt, look no further than the arena.

Tampa Bay: probably my favourite. Drinks in Ybor City, then took the antique trolley to the arena. Drank in the outdoor bar at the arena. As part of a week of golfing and swimming at the beach. Would love to go back.

Boston: it's Boston! Great place to see a game. Great group of bars around Canal Street after the game. Arena itself is meh. Let's face it - all the new arenas are meh.

- Atomic Wedgie

Edmonton - Meh arena (though the new one looks awesome) but good fans. Watching a Leafs game there was great; arena was pretty much 50/50 so the atmosphere was great.

Calgary - Good atmosphere, but the arena is definitely in need of an overhaul. Or maybe they can just figure out that new one that's been in the works for yearzZZZZZ

San Jose - Nice arena, good fans. Atmosphere depends on the team and situation - saw a regular season game vs the Canes and the atmosphere was flat, but also got to see a playoff game vs. Nashville, and it was (frank)ing awesome.

Dallas - Hands down the best arena/atmosphere I've experienced. Great fans, top arena. Good selection of microbrew also, and at less than $10 a beer, which for sports was surprising...

I guess you have been drunk for 10 years or so then. My recollection is that Carolina is in deep financial poop and have not made the playoffs for 8 years. They owe the league money and are next in line to be moved.

I agree the name needs work - Saskatoon Wheat Wackers?

Anyway: for all your Leaf Criticism - They have supported welfare teams like the Carolina Hurricanes for years, now is our time to add to the ELEVEN CUPS

Apparently they're looking to bid on the Winter Olympics again... could build a new rink as part of that. Might finally get that badly needed new stadium too because McMahon is junk.

Are you okay? You seem to take this personally.

Yes, grrrr I hate that the league has other teams too.

They have a lot of fire power up front. The question will be if the defense can hold it together against more experienced opponents.

If they can get out of the group stage, they have enough offense to win any one off game.

This tournament is also happening before the season. Perhaps their young legs may give them just that little extra something, while the vets may need that couple extra games to get themselves going.

I've never been to McMahon, so can't comment on that. If they could get any help with building the new arena though that would be good... the difficult thing would be where to put it. I can't think of many places in Calgary that it could go unless they move it out to the 'burbs...

I know they wanted to put one on the west side of downtown by the river, but who knows. Could maybe knock down the old Cannon's ballpark and build it out there?

My list:
TOR: MLG / ACC
always special for the atmosphere, found there were more humorous old drunks at the MLG than ACC but maybe Stuckless and Watt were letting in old pals...
BUFF: always fun times, nearby bars and good fan interactions
DET: definitely old school atmosphere, but you go to the game and go home, no nearby spots worth going
TB: great arena, decent seat prices, great atmosphere, lot's to do nearby
PHI Spectrum (playoff game vs Devils), great atmosphere, great tailgate scene, got to sit next to Pierre McGuire and hear the guy next to him try to convince him how PHI had the toughest players in the league - wouldn't have wanted to be here as an opposing fan though as the fans were SERIOUS in their hate for the Devs at the time.
NASH: great atmosphere, great fans, lots to do nearby and met Jacques Martin before game (not sure if that's considered a "win" though...)
ANA: good arena, somewhat copious amounts of bandwagon fans that didn't have a clue, had to drive distance to get there, not much around there to do
StLOU: good arena, good fans, lots to do nearby
CAR: 02 playoffs, great atmosphere, great fans a little ways out of Raleigh though
CHI: Stadium; great atmosphere, not a lot close by but it's CHI so always lots to do
MTL: (both arenas); great times, highly charged atmosphere, lots to do nearby, and got to go behind scenes for HNIC broadcast and meet Ron M & Co. so, cool.
Some others that were too long ago to have left a meaningful impression

You do realize that I was born 21 years after the Leafs won their last cup, right?
