Great point about insurance - Kucherov and Trouba especially.
Hasn't been much talk about the Bolts here since they signed Stamkos (Probably because of all the hurt butts) Yzerman did perform magic in signing Stammer and Hedman to way undervalued contracts. There is still trouble coming though after they pay Kucherov his $6 million or so will be not much left for Nesterov, Johnson, Drouin and Bishop. Might be some trading on the horizon. - winsix
I hope TB never wins another cup.. Imagine taking a lesser contract to stay with a team because you think they have a change of winning, only to never win poop.. |

I don't what they're doing when they make roster sections
Also, team NA really (frank)s is over. - RickJames77

Both Johnsons suck on D (lol), and with a few of exceptions their forwards are a big bag of meh. |

Couturier should be in the lineup instead of RNH.
But yeah, it's looking great for team NA. |

Sure, I'm biased, but I really don't know how you could leave Kessel off the list.
He excelled at the Olympics, and then had a phenomenal Stanley Cup playoffs this year.
Maybe he did something on the Olympic squad that pissed off Hockey USA, but FFS, from this outside point of view, they've made a huge mistake. |

SY has $6.6M left and needs to sign Kuch and Nesterov this year. The others are next year FAs. That was after buying out Carle. No LTIR relief in sight either. Signing UFAs like Callahan and Filipula to large, long contracts definitely bites.
Leafs' Martin contract might bite due to length but generally their contracts seem to be pretty good with Nonis gone. |

If we include Matthews with Lupul wonder would we find a taker? |

If they get the goaltending they could easily win.
I am thinking Team Canada has some older and slower players like Carter, Getzlaf, Thornton etc who have had great careers but are clearly on the downside. |

The defence is not as strong as the fowards, and the goaltending is a huge question mark.
Sometimes these tournaments simply come down to goaltending (Hasek, Richter). |

yeah.. But if Murray can win a cup with Letang pretty much the only guy back there then i have faith in him.. Gibson is good too.
I think Ekblad is as good as anyone out there. Parayko should get lots of ice time too. |

Sound a little bitter. At least I don't need to buy a new jersey.
Lightning need to win this year since they will need to do Chicago surgery to their roster in 2017 - 18.
Better for Leafs not to get Stamkos and have to struggle with Cap. I like the rebuild as it is going since it will be better for the long term. |

Maybe by the end of the tourney but I bet Mathews starts off on a lower line in favour of NHL experience players ...I could see him make his way up the lineup tho |

If you ask most Flyers fans right now, he's their MVP. |
