nah we are vs the sens, 6-1 leafs, Matthews hatty

have you decided yet what jersey you are going to get? also, did you get that hat yesterday?

- Lucas.Neilson

If I get a new jersey (and that's a huge "if") it will be blank. It just feels weird to me to have a name on the back of a kid 25 years younger than me (or more - FML!).

Went down to Real Sports today at lunch - they had one good looking hat with new logo, but it wasn't big enough for my pumpkin.

I'll be OK. I can surely wear one of the 27 Leafs hats I already own for the next month - plus I really should be rocking my Blue Jays hat right now.

But I guarantee I'll be rolling out of the ACC after the home opener, drunk as a skunk, with a giant bag full of crap I don't need from Leafs Sport.

Season opener in Ottawa: Wednesday, October 12.

Home opener vs. Bruins: Saturday, October 15.

Then the Leafs lose their next three games on a bad road trip.

you so sure about that?

This year yes - Chara's looking pretty old these days and the Leafs will have some speed.

Oh ok - just wondering because I've received conflicting guarantees from the respectable Bruinsiak. He said 10-0 Bruins. Stamkos with a ovechtrick and Vesey with a shut out.

I was thinking of getting a shanahan jersey for that reason.

As much as it’s weird to sport the team’s president’s name on your back.

Agree with you - always loved the Rebuilding Jersey with the #67 on it.

I like that Lehner is pulling out of the World Cup. He gets paid millions of dollars to stop puck go the Buffalo Sabres. Team Sweden pays Lehner nothing. When healthy last season, Lehner battle and scrapped his was to dominating performances. He finished his abbreviated season with a sterling .924 save percentage and a respectable 2.47 GAA. I expect a healthy Lehner to post similar numbers this season. On locker clean out day in April, Lehner told me at his goal for this season is to come to training camp in the best physical shap of his career. He wants to be the starting goalie that leads his Sabres back to the Stanley Cup playoffs. I feel that a healthy Lehner will the Sabres to a playoff berth.

Good lord did he bang this out with chopsticks on his phone.

I never hit $100 (CDN) filling up the minivan, but I came darned close a few times.

Altima has a 75L tank, I came very close to 100 when Gas was like 1.40

Boston.

But if I had my way, it would definitely be Montreal.

There's a few tiers when it comes to Leafs game opponents:

1. Montreal. So many ex-pat Montrealers (damn anglos who moved to Toronto in the 1960s-70s). And as much as I'd like to call them P.O.S. for not supporting their adopted home, it's hard to blame a guy for not dumping the late 1970s Habs to start cheering for the Leafs. Always a great atmosphere.

2. Ottawa, Buffalo. Good rivalries.

3. Philly. It's weird. You get a lot of meatheads who still embrace the Broad Street Bully mentality. Guys from Scarborough or North Bay who sign over their pay cheque for a pair of tickets. Forgive me for sounding like an absolute bastard, but they are a lower class than your typical Leafs fan. And about 100 lbs. heavier. Makes for a lively crowd, with a weird tension.

4. All other Canadian teams. Put Vancouver at the top of that list.

5. Boston, New York Rangers, Chicago.

6. Everybody else.

- Atomic Wedgie

So that's how how do it diplomatically eh? Ask forgiveness before the offence not after - and then you are not acting like an "arse"?

And I agree with the team selection except I would add Detroit to #5 and slip Tampa in there somewhere - there will be some extra hate for Stamkos this year IMO.

Good point - I'd actually put Detroit at #2 (totally forgot about them).

Always a good rivalry - you get people from Southwest Ontario making the drive up.
