Hot take.....the list of coaches with NHL playing experience has extreme highs and lows as well
- DDM-Coga

What I find even more perplexing is teams keep signing players with no NHL coaching experience.

Some people think it's fun to do this thing on the internet called getting along and being agreeable. Those people are straight (frank)ed.

Think Rantanen will be in the running for the Calder?

We got Matthews, Laine, Rantanen...?

Theodore, Strome, Johns, Puljujarvi, Murray

Plus darkhorses like: Tkachuk, Mantha, Fiala, Vrana, Barzal, Buchnevich, Provorov, Meier, Koekkoek, and Aho.

poop I didn't realize Murray was still a rookie. I thought of Pulju but I'm not 100% sure whether he will be in the AHL or NHL. I guess if you toss in Strome you can include Marner but it seems really unlikely to me that either beats out Matthews. Realistically I'd probably add Murray and Theodore to my first list but I doubt the others. There's always some rookies that come out of nowhere tho, particularly defensemen.

Yeah Marner and Nylander are solid options as well. I think Johns might end up putting up a ton of points playing behind that potent offense. Any of the other guys could simply end up putting up tons of points if they get slotted in the right position similar to Panarin.

completly different. Bednar plays an uptemto style, real stressing on mobility of his defencemen.
- DDM-Coga

Good to hear. I was really not looking forward to another season of "low risk" shots from the perimeter. I am excited to see what Varly looks like when he faces sub 35 shots a game.

(frank) forgot about Nylander, I'm brain dead today. I'd prob add Nylander to my list too but keep Strome and Marner off.

I agree about the Dallas offense but I don't think Johns will be the beneficiary. He doesn't have the offensive pedigree even at the AHL level. Instead I would probably add Lindell or Honka because they seem more likely to get solid PP time. If I had to choose it would be Lindell though because I wouldn't be surprised to see Honka spend some time in the AHL again considering he is only 20.

Matthews, Laine, Rantanen, Nylander, Murray, Theodore (Lindell as a dark horse).

Honestly think 35 points is about where he'll wind up this year. You never know, though. He might be centering the #1 PP unit by the end of the year.
