I actually don't think it's a given at all that they'd protect Nash
definitely depends on the season he has of course, but, I wouldnt guarantee it
I also don't necessarily believe Vegas would take Nash. Why would they take a guy at his age with one year left on his deal? Don't really even see the need to protect Nash.

Who would you rather protect instead? Fast or Grabner?
I think Nash would be better served to be protected and then dealt at the deadline as a rental for a top prospect and 1st/2nd. Vegas will need a star player to draw fans to the arena their first season and Nash could end up being the closest thing available if we don't protect him. |

I don't know, I definitely don't think the team as constructed right now will be what we have next June, so hard to say. I actually don't think the team we see right now is gonna be the same in the next week. |

any ideas why the Swedish world cup team would choose Marcus Kruger over Zibanejad?
not that I really care, but just curious |

If McIlrath doesn’t get into at least 42 games this coming season he will be an unrestricted free agent next July 1. If he does, then he would have to either be protected or exposed. |

Good, let our players rest as long as possible. I don't want no injuries |

Sweden has made some weird roster choices. Klingberg for example isn't on the team either.
I think Kruger fills a very unique role that not a lot of other forwards fill with how rock solid he is defensively. He can take a Crosby or Malkin completely out of a game and nullify them. Says something to me when Chicago who are cap strapped every summer give him a monster contract as far as bottom 6 players are concerned over keeping Shaw. |

it's definitely good that a new important addition like Zibinajed is in the Rangers training camp from day 1, that's for sure. Get acclimated.
With all the Vesey talk, it's kind of been put on that back burner, but Zibinajed has huge shoes to fill with Brassard being gone and faces as much pressure as anyone.

Could be a steal of a trade if he continues to improve his point total...plus we got a 2nd round pick |

I love it when a plan comes together... George Peppard (lighting a stogie)
at the end of another successful episode of.....the ? Team.......
I'm lovn the soap opera summer ...turn over galore .....
not treading lightly.. Gorts is grindng his way to a legendary summer
I'm bettin when the smoke clears after the Biggie comin we will be an "A " team
1. Pirri : depth for trade comin
2. Nash : St lou has company ,I like ANA ,they too can sense the top 6 they will have if they give us Umpa lumpa Lindholm ..... what else if we send Klein or better yet Staal? that why i like the St lou deal for Shatty & Stasnty for Nash & Staal
Still not sold on Steps steppin upa notch to #1 status not 1a as hes known....
Stastny ? I like our team if nash goes out & Stastny slides in to our top 6.....
Key is to upgrade D balance and PP concern on D ....
it all lining up the sun the moon & stars ...
for our boys to explode with A V's flying monkeys system of ATTACK!!!!L G R |

Zuccarello has played RW the last 2 years. Miller played LW but a natural C. Vesey is a LW. That said learning to play the opposite wing isn't rocket science. Kredier & Miller ended the season as NYR's top 2 LW's.
There is no room in NYR for Buchnevich this season. The earliest he'll play regularly is after the All-Star break. He may get a cup of coffee here or there due to injuries but with 15 forwards signed & only Vesey having waiver rights on the big league roster there is no room at the inn. Hrivik isn't even in the picture. Even with Lindberg destined for LTIR at some point, something has to give. Vesey either goes down which seems highly unlikely or Glass, Jooris or Gerbe are going to need to be waived as well as Hrivik & Jensen for that matter.
The Pirri signing was odd. It muddled an already cloudy picture at forward.
With another round of expansion looming potentially in the next 2 years; Quebec, teams would be well served to max out a players Major Jr eligibility. |

I M O if able with new deal not dry yet ....
DUMP Kreids in one of these biggies if u can ...
signing was amust as an asset not to lose out on & give away
BUT : get him and his hold back game outta here so as not to pollute
the enthusiasm and chemistry... hes a dog with very little fight in him to compete
he lives off of his immense talent not effort..... I MO he aint gonna hunt any
better than he has especially with new deal.... gonna go off for weeks if
he hold s true to form...... |

Just like when Hedman didn't get a roster spot in the Olympics.
And imo you're correct about Kruger. Z-bad has only played for Team Sweden in junior tourneys... |

I MO vesey & Bushny are long shots to win top 9 slots outright.....
Also reason for Pirri , dont know anything of whta complete rooks will do ?
its nice to project BUT real NHL dosnt see many just walk in & play both ways & produce... learning curve & speed of game
Bushny especially .... commincation , age ,exposure to N america style ...LOng
shot to start as top 9
Vesey has more insight & connects to use ... I see him gettin a REAl chance |

I highly doubt Vesey would have signed with the Rangers if he was a long shot for the opening night roster |

There is no questions AV and the coaching staff will have their hands full in training camp. A few years, we all were up in arms because the team lacked depth. Now they have it and there's questioning why and how to manage it. Things will work out, they always do. Injuries happen, trades can occur, players step up or regress, let's let it play out a bit and see what transpires.
Buch/Vesey could go down or they could be 2/3 of a pretty darn good third line. Plus remember, due to the World Cup, you need players in camp and those players will have a real chance to make an impression, positively or negatively. |
