How? Taylor Hall was far more established and expected to do bigger things early and had 65gp 22g 20a 42p pretty much leading his team in points and leading them in goals. Reinhart, Drouin and Draisaitl who even if we put in a category slightly below Puljarvi were not good enough for the NHL on garbage teams and sent back to junior in their 18 year old seasons. So to expect him to come in as a 4th overall pick light things up seems highly suspect.

Obviously there is always a chance he can be a Skinner, Duchene or Monahan, but they are generally the outlier and not the rule.

Ok thats fine,

But to say they wont make the playoffs because hes in a top 6 spot is guessing. Im sure i could find examples of rookies in top 6 roles making the playoffs.. You can debate things from many different angles i suppose.. But having McDavid on your team really makes it more plausible.

Yeah I'm probably keeping Myers, he's nothing great but he's solid enough to bring home some points.

Couturier had an interesting year last year producing at something like .64 points per game but he's used in a more defensive role... at best he's a 50 point guy so nothing I can't replace.

Horvat I'm having my doubts about his upside as well.... he's decent but he's stuck behind the Sedins for a while and I can't see him being an offensive dynamo anytime soon.
