Maybe. They have a couple guys I like, but I tend to lean conservative on rookie defensemen, especially on the offensive side. I don't anticipate anyone replacing what Goli did right away.

BTW Bouwmeester (Keith is out) on team Canada over Letang and Subban... WOW!!!!

I would expect their loss of gogo and the other guy to hamper their forwards. You know what they about young dmen.

While Dallas holds the title for best forward grouping if I'm a betting man I'd expect our two squads to have similar output. Have to remember towards the end of last year final 15 games or so and the Rangers series a 5 goal night started to be average and that just doesn't happen in the modern nhl.

After a cup run I don't want our guys on these teams. Need rest and recovery. I wouldn't even mind telling a guy as old as cullen to just show up in January.

Probably just wanted a left handed shot. If they didn't care about that, Canada would likely have 5 or 6 righries. It's weird how many of their best defensemen are righties.

You take a look that that defense, there are a lot of questions. Klingberg is a good young one. Hamhuis and Oduya are solid, but seem older than they are. Benn is average. Nemeth is ok ... Johns and Oleskiak are closer to suspects than answers at this juncture. I'm not certain I would say right now, that is a solid unit. I see major questions. One good young Dman, two older season veterans and ???

Especially Letang. The single most important player to the Pens.

I think the overwhelming general opinion of our D this time last year was a lot worse than that. So I think the jury has to get a little more sausage on their roll before calling the judge.

Ek said during the SCF that Joe Thornton had a great series. As Penguins fans is this accurate? Personally I thought he was invisible.

I don't know...he was pretty damn efficient at knocking Sid's helmet off that one time...

Bishop is no Price and Montreal still had Subban, Pacioeretty, Galcheniuk, Gallagher etc which LV will not have. It's not like the Canadians are Price and a half hold team of slunks, they have talent on that team and I bet with a coach that the as more like Sullivan they would be much better Price or no Price.
- Dcoms

They were 1 of the worsts team in the league after Price was gone. While I like Subban, Pacioretty and Gallagher as an overall team they are garbage without Price and their #9 pick at the draft was solid evidence of that. They went from leading the Alantic Division with Price in net to picking #9 after Price went down, that clearly shows they are Price and a bunch of whatever.

Joe looked embarrassed from his play. Burns played great, it would have been nice for Hertl to be healthy.

With teams (most top teams or 'contenders'), basically putting the cue in the rack for trades, who is everyone predicting will be the first team to crack once the season starts??

I'm thinking Q's resilience & coaching ability is going to be tested with the young guys playing & he's going to crack & make a move first - Hawks will make a big move first people, heard it here first no going back!!

I think Niemi will play his way into some form early holding off any decision from Nill to trade for Crawford/Flower (Hawks need LW & D but if they aren't scoring like Kane did last season Q will push the big red button & go for offence which the Stars have plenty of now), then completely poop the bed!

I feel the complete opposite about Niemi and Dallas and that would be my pick as the 1st team to make a move. If Dallas stumbles out of the gate they are going to be looking to solve that goaltending issue ASAP, the biggest roadblock to them being the 1st team to make a move is going to be whether someone is going to be willing to trade a goalie that early in the season. I can almost guarantee that if Dallas looks to acquire a goalie early in the season Pittsburgh won't be answering the calls.

I'm going to extend your question to what coach gets the axe first. Roy really threw a wrench into this projection by quitting because he would have been the easiest choice. I guess now I'm going with Therrien in MTL, he got the pass last season because of Prices' injury but if they stumble out of the gates with Price back in net I could see Bergevin getting pressured to make the change.

Doesn't help that their coach is a moron too. Therrien is garbage.

Bergevin should be gone regardless. He's failed time and time again to put a quality roster together in front of Price. As I pointed out in my last post, without Price they would be bottom feeders every year and that falls as much on Bergevin as it does Therrien.

Pirri strikes me as a Beau 2. Not very good at anything but with an OK scoring touch.

In the spirit of Vegas & expansion, what would people's best possible nhl team be if you can select 1 player from every team only with the following restrictions;

Can't pick 2 of the same position - ex 1C, can't pick Sid & lets say 'Barkov' & play Barkov 2C. Geno can be selected as he is 2C on the Pens but you can't pick 2 players from the same team (McD is a 2C)
No cap limit
Only 1 goalie
Have to have 4 elc in the team
Leave analytics out of any decision - NO STATS ALLOWED TO PICK YOUR TEAMS
Then the 2 best teams selected play them off with their analytics in a virtual A-Cup.

I've got Paul Hogan as my goalie, and anyone named Foster for the rest of my lineup. I win.
