I think so far Marner has demonstrated that among being extremely talented, he's also relatively humble and good natured, as well as good in the room. I wouldn't be surprised if Doug Gilmour actually endorsed passing his number on to Marner. |

The notion that someone (Marner, arguably one of their best pospects they've had in a long long time) can't wear a number is absurd. The leafs have let scrubs like stajan and hougland wear Keon's number, and junk like laforst and ing and Rhodes wear bowers number.
