A great short term solution that would be very cheap asset wise is Hartnell in Columbus... word is they've been trying to deal him for a while now, Emelins 2 years at 4 million for Hartnell's 3 years at 4.5...

Emelin or DD.

2 players CBS would never want.

50-60 points and he's a bad passer and bad scorer.

He had Darche and Moen playing on his wings not too long ago FFS

Last year we had Lessio-Plek-Byron at one point

I like the guy but he never seem to develop great chemistry with anybody. We'll see with Radulov...if they play together.

Andrighetto, Carr and Lehkonen are not top 6 forwards on a contending team at the moment... Carr on a 3rd line with Shaw and McCarron would be fantastic... I'm not sure where Andrighetto fits on this team right now, he's kind of in no man's land unless he has a incredible camp he will not be in the starting line up
- obie

Can't say much about Lehkonen because he hasn't played a single second of NHL hockey... we'll find out what he is soon enough. These assumptions don't make sense to me.

I loved Carr's game last season. Was on pace for 20 goals I believe playing up and down the line-up. Defo one of the best players on the team during that horrid stretch. I think he'd be fine in that top-6 LW position.

I agree completely about Andrighetto.. no idea why Pacioretty thinks he'll have a break-out season.

No mention of Hudon fighting for that LW spot? Should be a good battle in camp this year methinks...

Hard to create chemistry when you don't play with the same winger for more than 10 games in a row.

I realize that... it's why I said shirt term solution, he has at least 2 more years left in him...would be a decent 2nd line with Gallagher and Plekanec

I think they would take Emelin for Hartnell... a year less on the deal and Columbus only has 6 D under contract and it's not a great 6 either

He has very little chance at making the team let alone crack the top 6

Really? I haven't seen him play so I'll have to take your word for it, but I keep reading good things and his stats look good.

Super small sample size, but 2 assists in 3GP with the Habs last season is a pretty good start. Also he's got good AHL numbers...

Just too many forwards on one way deals, makes it next to impossible for him to land a spot out of camp

Hopefully not... along with a good LD, it's the only 2 holes on the roster

Latest report says he can barely walk and his shot is worse than Josh Gorges's.

All that "blame it on the goalie" crap last year really pissed me off. I thought Condon played well, even during the epic slumps. They certainly relied on him way too much while Price was injured, which is a coaching issue imo, but the real problem was the dismal team in front of him. I'm cheering for Condon to beat out Montoya for the back-up position this year because I think he got a bum rep after that cluster*&^% of a showing from the team in front of him.

As for fwd lines, I'd love to see:

Patches, Chucky, Gallagher
Carr, Plek, Radulov
DD, McCarron, Shaw
Byron, Mitchell/Danault, Flynn/Ghetto

DLR, Lehkonen, Hudon

I like the idea of having Gallagher, Carr and Shaw on different lines. They're all that kind of pesky, puck hound type of players that can really irritate the opposing team and if that's spread out on three lines, I think it would be gold imo.

- GstrangWondah

It was an impossible situation for Condon, and he had to learn quick. I think he did great when you consider the circumstances, and with the team bailing out on him most nights. Seems that this group's confidence is very shaky and that the "leadership core" wasn't able to get the group going.

As for Lehkonen, I think he will get a long look at camp because if he gets cut, he'll go back to Sweden. Not saying he's a shoe in, but I think they will want to see as much as they can from him and that he will get a good opportunity to show what he can do.

I like to believe that between Lekhonen, Reway, Andrighetto, Carr, Hudon etc. one of them will actually step up and be good enough to play on that 2nd line.

Andrighetto is much more comfortable on the right side, Hudon is a long shot at best to make the team, Reway is very raw and built like a little girl, from what I hear Lekhonen is much more of a defensive forward than known for his offensive flashes and that leaves Carr who I see as a better fit on the 3rd line, with McCarron and Shaw like I said earlier

Where does DD slot in? Unless he gets traded, whether you like it or not, he's gunna be in the lineup.

He belongs as the third line centre.

Until Therrien puts him on the first line after 10 games of course.
