It's less what the fans know and more the insinuation that the approach their team is taking is superior.

The top ten pick would be because we finished in the bottom ten. The player would be for Edler. Try and keep up.

A young stud forward and a top 10 pick ?

I know we differ on edler but common ...typo ?

And either way I didn't bring the flames into this

- Redmile247

I actually see a team like Dallas taking a run at Edler with maybe Nutushkin and a second. VN has not lived up to expectations and is still a RFA.

Selected one after Bo I think he is still going to be a decent player.

It's kind of funny, I don't see any Pittsburg, Chicago or LA fans in here explaining to us the proper way to build a competitor, it's fans of teams that finished at the bottom of the standings. It's like Larry explaining to Curly and Moe how to split the atom.

Would the opinions be more valid coming from fans of successful teams?

I think he is pointing out misery loves company. If they had a successful team they couldn't give a rats ass of how a Canucks do.

I'd take someone who's team is a legit competitor telling me how they got to that point over a lottery team telling how they are getting to that point like it's a foregone conclusion.

It's not like everyone is like that here. And the ones that are are in other threads, telling them what's what.

Or some people just want to talk hockey and go on lively boards that have people willing to engage.

Let's stop calling everyone with disagreeing opinions trolls and stop saying "well your team sucks," when faced with diverging opinions.

I'm not calling you out specifically but any hockey fan has their own opinion on how to build a team. Call out the opinion not the allegiance.

After all, it's not like we all of a sudden got dumber just b/c the Canucks slid in the standings. (We were always this dumb )

Shhhh, don't tell oiler fans this, they feel that now that we arn't at the top anymore that they get to tell us how to do things.

Only hockey fans of winning organizations have valid opinions.

If they played them their opinion is even more valid.

If your favorite team sucks your iq decreases. The longer the suck the greater the fool.

If you've never picked up a stick in your life, you have no knowledge of the game, full stop, period.

Luckily my team won a couple president trophies and I played net in my youth, so my opinion is quite valid.

Don't know about the rest of you, but facts are facts.

see, you absolutely get it.

i've actually worked out the formula:
(team you support) x (any form of experience) = hockey expertise
blackhawks fan x 1 year of pee wee = stephen hawking of hockey

Tine will tell ...I haven't minded most of his moves ...but if he starts trading first rounders or good prospects for players to help win now my mind as well as others could change ...depending on the deal of course
- Redmile247

He has never traded 1st rounders or good prospects in the past so why would he start now? I guess you don't understand the "rebuild on the fly" strategy.

It's a head scratcher for sure.

If JB wants to compete for the cup now, then the roster he's put together is not competitive enough. He has a lot of work to do over the next few seasons.

If he's building for the future then he's made mistakes by trading picks and prospects for middling talent.

I'm not clear on the direction this team is taking. And I know I'm not alone.

- bloatedmosquito

It's painfully clear what the direction of the team is. Listen to what Linden and Benning are saying. The message is loud and clear.

Your right he hasn't ...but the rumour was he might ...and he will at some point ...now just isn't that point for the Canucks I feel

when I hear rebuild on the fly I think of phill kessel going to TO
