I'll give him credit for the Spezza acquisition. Also getting Janmark from Holland for Erik F'n Cole. Also not sure how he convinced CHI to give up Johns in the Sharp deal.

yeah they were decent trades, but has really dropped the ball when it comes to managing their D core....Russel trade over Hamhuis, then just to sign Hamhuis as a UFA after lettering Demers and Goligoski go. Still have no idea why they traded for Niemi's rights then signed him to that contract in the 1st place. Bizarre.

Like I said a bunch of good moves mixed in with some wtf was that. Pretty average GM overall, not bad but not some league elite genius

Tearing it down is easy... now we see how good they are at building it.

If they want to rank the management high due to a HoF GM, two smart assistants who have proven themselves at the junior level and one of the best coaches in the game, then sure... if they want to give extra credit for making him - and one of the most impatient fan bases in the league - buy in then great... but to be ranked top for tanking is a joke.
