You know what's really weird... That looks like Katz and his kid in the background. Those faces were not edited btw, they appear in the original.

Kuznetsov didn't break out until 23 and Tarasenko was 22. There's still chance for Yak this season.

I think he was rushed and can still bounce back. I seriously doubt it's for the Oilers though.

Yeah, his development was not handled well, but it's hard to completely blame the Oilers for the initial handling. Yak was as touted as McDavid or Matthews and hailed as the next Ovie. His first season was pretty solid, but I think after that the Oilers mishandled him after he was having a sophomore slump.

Not that I got to really see how things went down, it did appear they really jerked him around the line-up.

Leafs sign Brandon Prust to a professional tryout contract. Does he make the team? Does this make the Leafs the 3rd best team in their division?

"He's been compared to Ovechkin quite a lot, but I see him as more of a Stamkos type player."

Go read pretty much any scouting report published prior to the 2012 draft...

Now go, run away, off with you

Draft analysis from 2012
"Granted, he is not a player who will impact an NHL roster like Stamkos, Ovechkin, or even Taylor Hall did, but Yakupov will help generate offense early on. "

Toronto Sun from 2012
"None of the players are considered sure superstars. No, that’s not a prerequisite for making a No. 1 pick, but general managers and scouts don’t want to be embarrassed with a failed pick, either.

“It’s just a bad year,” the East executive said. “There are just a lot of warts on a lot of the players. There’s just not as many slam-dunk guarantees as there normally are right from the top. If you take some of these guys, you wonder what you’re going to get out of them."

just a few quotes on him. And yes, I know there are quotes going the other way too. But when they are divided... I wouldn't exactly hail him the "next one"

There is no way the Oilers trade Yak now. He will get a very good look and then the trade deadline if he is doing well then we will have a decision to make visa vie protection list.

I wouldn't either, but hindsight is 20/20. It seems silly to think he got those praises since he hasn't exactly panned out, but there was more than plenty of media frenzy hailing him as being in the ranks of Sid and Ovie.

but what i'm saying is there was plenty saying he wasn't. You didn't have the division with Sid, Ovi, McD. Everyone knew they were going to be studs. But the media was divided on Yak.

Divided is fine, but that doesn't change the fact that plenty of outlets were touting him the way I claimed and that's all I'm saying. No need to really go deeper than that.

What's amazing about you is that you see what you want to see based on what you BELIEVE or PERCEIVE, and ignore anything in front of you that legitimately counters your opinion.

I mean, I actually posted multiple sources proving what I was talking about. CRAZY!
