I also hate when there's a line of cars at a stoplight and people stop so close to each other that they have to wait for the car in front of them to move before they can move. Then you always get the person or two that aren't paying attention and ruin it for everyone.
C'mon self driving cars! - YuenglingJagr
On my way in on 295 today, I was doing 75 in the left lane (there were cars doing 65-70 in the right hand land). Traffic wasn't bumper-to-bumper, but wasn't wide open, either. Some guy came charging up behind me, didn't get pissed, but was tailgating the poop out of me. Not being a Richard, but I'm also not slowing down to accommodate him, I waited until there was a nice break so I could keep going at 75, switched to the right, and let him whiz by me.
Would that be acceptable to you? Again, I'm not trying to be a Richard, but I'm also not going to change my speed so that the guy behind me can go faster. |

I think we've been pretty lucky that G has been as healthy a player as he has been. Sure he could produce but between injury and decline, the points are bound to drop off. - roenick97
Agreed, which is why I was hoping they'd make a move for a young top liner this offseason |

As long as "waited until there was a nice break" wasn't 4 miles. I try to drive how I would prefer to be driven with as best I can. People driving fast does not bother me at all. I wouldn't just instantly run up on someone expecting them to move out of my way as soon as I am behind them, but if I were in your position I would definitely speed up a little to clear his way as soon as I could. I don't like to hold people up almost as much as I don't like to be held up.
Sounds like it was a fairly good exchange for a morning commute though. |

I agree with what you did. You continued going your speed which was above the speed limit anyway (and faster than the other lanes), waited for an opening to get over, and then let him pass. No reason to risk yourself getting a speeding ticket when you're going over the speed limit in the left lane with the flow of traffic. If you were going the same speed as the other lanes or slower, it's a different story.
And I wouldn't have blamed you for slowing down either. I do that all the time on this 25 mph residential road near me that always has cops waiting at certain openings and streets. As a local, I know this so I hit 30-32 and just cruise. If someone ends up on my bumper, I bump it down to 25 or slower.
Edit: And this is coming from someone with road rage who has a serious issue when people are in the left lane unnecessarily or driving slowly in it. I also cannot stand how nobody uses turn signals anymore. You'd almost think cars weren't made with them nowadays or they were optional. |

No doubt. But so is driving 40+ on a residential road that cops are always on. And its 1 lane each way, so not like there's an area to get over and let them pass because trust me I would so I could drive by laughing when I see them pulled over with flashing lights. |

You were too quick to respond before I added my edit, but please see above. If it was possible to get over, I'd let them so it could happen. |

Or he could hit a kid.
I am constantly yelling at cars flying down my street. Just a couple of weeks ago I had a guy get out of his car and yell at me for yelling at him.
I just shook my head and told him to pipe down and slow down. |

That's fine. It is the smart thing to do and would also be the most fulfilling if they got pulled over. Other than that though you are just escalating a situation. Maybe it makes you feel better, but it doesn't make the road any safer. It is a form of road rage and I highly doubt that person, while stuck behind you now going even slower is suddenly having a revelation and thinking...you know, maybe I was driving too fast...I better slow down |

I shake my head daily on my street with the cars flying on it. A few streets in my town now have speed tables. But they don't seem to be able to add them to my street since there are a lot of families with 2 or 3 cars on it and it would seriously make parking a nightmare. So instead we have to deal with the drag strip. |

Are you in Wallingford PA by any chance lol.
Thats exactly what we have going on. A few streets have actual removable speed bumps that they remove in the winter. My street is only about 60 yards long, but people act as thoughts its a 1/4 mile race way. crazy |

Haha how is what I said advocating for speeding in residential areas? Good for yelling at him. You should. I know people that park white cars in their front lawn and such to make people slow down.
However, people are idiots and will continue to be idiots whether you or someone else tries to "teach them a lesson" with vigilante justice. Maybe that person is speeding through a residential area because jmatchett slowed them down too much on 295. They are clearly not very smart to begin with if they are doing that |

Nope I'm in South Jersey and ours aren't removable for winter they are literally a large additional amount of tar on top of the normal road. |

I want ram them off the road.
The other night this lady was stuck trying to get out of Wawa.. I watched as she inched forward about 10 times and cars would just fly by her. So I stopped and kinda blocked the other lane a bit so she could get out. Not even a smile.
I secretly hoped that she would get a flat. |
