In response to an earlier post, they have NEVER had a pool of D prospects this deep. They had a pretty damn good run of goal prospects in the late 70s/early 80s: Peeters, Lindbergh, Froese and Hextall, and they've always done well with forwards, but D has always, until now, been their glaring developmental weakness |

He loves to get greasy. I doubt he needs acclimation.
I honestly think there is a very good chance Lindblom goes right to the NHL next season. He plays a very pro game and will have been in the pro Swedish league for 3 seasons, seeing top line usage. His game is just sound in every way....I'm not disappointed that he isn't in the AHL (which the SHL definitely stands up to), but that he didn't come over because he might have cracked the NHL roster some point this season. Crazy to think he has a late birthday too, so he only just turned 20 the other day.
I wanted him to come to the AHL purely for the selfish reason that I can watch some Phantoms games on TV. I don't think he needs it for his development.
Between him, NAK, Laberge, Allison and Konecny we should have at least a couple of genuine top 6 wings added to the team in the next few years. These are the current standings on the ongoing HFB prospect polls.
1. Provorov, Ivan (88%) LHD
2. Sanheim, Travis (75%) LHD
3. Konecny, Travis (85%) RW
4. Morin, Sam (54%) LHD
5. Rubtsov, German (79%) C
6. Myers, Phil (56%) RHD
7. Lindblom, Oskar (54%) LW/RW
8. Laberge, Pascal (68%) C/RW
9. Aube-Kubel, Nicolas (63%) LW/RW
10. Allison, Wade (44%) RW
11. Hagg, Robert (55%) LHD
12. Friedman, Mark (52%) RHD
13. Vorobyov, Mikhail (49%) C
14. Leier, Taylor (58%) LW
15. Fazleev, Radel (60%) C
16. Marody, Cooper (19%) C
17. Bardreau, Cole (21%, 55%) C |

A bit surprised to see Myers and Lindblom still behind Morin, after the years they just turned in. Morin is the Flyers' 7th or 8th-best prospect right now, IMO. |

I had a wasp fly into my car yesterday morning in my driveway. My daughter pointed at the ceiling and said, "Bug!" not scared, just matter-of-factly. It then proceeded to fly onto the window right next to her, which made her laugh. I rolled down the window and it didn't take the hint, so I had to run over and open the door. After that, he didn't want no sauce. |

It must be hard to explain to young kids why we older types say we "rolled" down the window, or "taped" a TV show. |

I can't speak for all the Morin voters there, but the general expectation is he'll be playing a significant number of NHL games this season. In the #4 poll the votes were 98 for Morin, 62 for Rubtsov and 11 for Myers. |

Thank god. I felt last night episode (episode 7) was the slowest of them all yet. Felt it accomplished very little for the 2nd to last episode. |

Oh, I'm sure she'll know what they are.
And if she wants to, she can get one when she's 27, right after she's allowed to go on her first date.
Edit: By then, assuming things like smart phones are sill being used, I'm sure some other fad will overtake the iPhone amongst hipsters and young professionals. |

Just feel like he's a bit ahead of where Morin was at the same age.
And we don't talk enough about just how good Lindblom's past season was... putting up fantastic numbers in two pro leagues as a late-birthday. |

Does Myers have a physical side to his game, or is he more of a big man who focuses on offense? |

The internet just got me with a swift kick to the stones...had a terrible commute into work with two school buses parked in the left lane going about 3-5 mph faster than traffic in the right lane and too much traffic to safely pass in the right. So there I sat drowning in my own misery and turning what is usually an enjoyable part of my day into an awful time. I got the bus numbers and was going to look up some local bus companies (quick google search) and then an advert comes up for one of them here on hockeybuzz....Damnit targeted advertisements and damnit eklund |

Not targeted at you, and maybe it's just because I'm quickly becoming a cranky old man, but why do people feel the need to exceed the speed limit with reckless abandon? I mean, okay, doing 70 or even 75 in a 65, I get it. But people riding up people's asses at 85-100 MPH, swerving in and out of traffic all in an effort to save, at maximum, 3-5 minutes off of a standard 30-45 minute commute, just seems silly to me. Every day I see someone either almost spinning out dodging through cars or people actually trying to cause accidents due to road rage...is it really worth getting in front of that car when there's 1 1/2 car lengths to fit at 90 MPH??? |

It is an argument that will never end. There are without a doubt people that drive recklessly, but it is proven that the result of someone blocking the left lane is more dangerous than someone speeding. That is really where the argument begins and ends for me. If there is a spot to get over, then do it. People try so hard to keep someone behind them and in general people are just awful to each other on the road.
There are plenty of cars that are capable of driving safely at speeds over 70 miles per hour on the road. You can make an assumption, but you really don't ever know how important those extra 3-5 minutes are to someone. Doubt it is worth anyone's life but I see plenty of people trying to "police" things themselves. There really isn't any harm in letting someone who you feel is driving recklessly go past you.
I think anyone would be lying if they say they haven't been involved in some form of road rage at some point in their life...I try to stay out of that as much as possible. I was really just angry that these people ruined my morning, not that I didn't get somewhere as quickly as I wanted to. |

Last week I saw an SUV on 95 during rush hour lean so far towards the construction barrier, as it did a 2 lane slide to the right, that I swore we were going to have a 20 car pileup. Thankfully it stayed on all four wheels and we all kept on our way.
I hate driving that road when it starts to back up because you know someone is going to be an ignoramous and try to do the weave through it. |
