The first pre-season games is Sept 26 so I guess camp would open mid September?

Girgs I'd give 1.5 for 1 year
No more
He hasn't earned a signifocant pay raise over a 3year period IMO

He scores 15 this year & I'd give him that deal

- jdfitz77

That would work for me, prob not for Girgs or his agent. I can honestly see a trade if they can't get him signed.

All he's done is shown he's terrible though!
And there are goalies that put up decent stats, even on bad teams

You bring a guy in who has had ZERO success to back up a guy who has never played more than 40 games in a season

How does that make sense?

- jdfitz77

Nilsson was decent for Edmonton at the start of last year. But I'm not holding out hope for our magical make-bad-goalies-good run to keep up
- chilliard77

If he falters in camp Chilly they waive him. Murray wanted Zatkoff. Nilsson was his plan B or C, or Z.

I'm on the fence with this one.

If it's a because Jack, Risto or ROR get hurt then no

If it's for any other reason then yes.

So barring any major injury (non goalie I will blame Murray if Lehner gets hurt since he brought him in and his new backup so he takes the fall)

Ultimate answer...yes

They should be our 2nd line truthfully. Reinhart/Eichel should be getting the top line minutes
- sbroads24

They will both probably get comparable minutes with the harder assignments going to ROR's line. Bylsma knows he can't lean that heavily on ROR again, and Eichel should be ready for a few more minutes a game.

He was actually better than decent in Edmonton last year to start. If he plays like that he will be fine for this year. The Oilers were horrible on their goalies for the first 60 games last year.

No, with the option to do it based on the first 15-20 games next year.

Now compare Johnson's stats with us against Nilsson's stats ANYWHERE
Difference is Nilsson has ALWAYS put up poor stats
Johnson had at least shown it with Boston

Nowhere in any of your replies are u saying that Nilsson is good
That's my concern

- jdfitz77

Maybe Tim saw something that could be corrected . He has been pretty good at scouting goalies. He is a big one . Perhaps with coaching he becomes an asset we can trade at the deadline. Sure is not worth blowing a gasket over yet.

Yeah, he was really good there.

http://en.khl.ru/players/17552/

He had a really good playoffs too.

11 total shutouts in 58 games between regular season and playoffs.

Edit: For those too lazy to look at the site he had a .935 SV% and a 1.65 GAA. He was 2nd in the league in SV% and 3rd in GAA in the regular season in 14-15. But you should check out the site. It's better than the NHL's. And it's not even in their native language.

Double edit: He's also massive(6'5" and 234lbs). Something Murray likes.
