Honestly, it's a good fit. Vesey has low expectations of himself and well the Rangers had some good runs above their talent level. Lol.

No seriously, good get, Hayes has paid dividends and this kid might be something. Worth a shot. Good luck.

Definitely easier than joining a team with some sort of expectations. 👍

Yes, we're still looking for a top line LW as well!! Hard (frank)ers to find - oh hang on, what's Vmans ceiling you think? Lucky bastards!
- Aussiepenguin

Probably tops out as a 2nd liner. He'll likely never score 30 goals. But will be always around 15-25 range.

We will see what we got when the season starts. Offense has to be better but the D, IDK. Hopefully the Ranger-Devils games get real exciting again. I suspect there is a pretty good Islander team that's feeling extra pissy following this drama. I'm sure you guys will have extra fun there.

I just hope he clicks with Hayes. Hayes needs to rebound from last year and it would be nice to have 3 solid scoring lines rolling, something the Rangers didn't have last year.

I was just trying to figure out possible line combos with the current roster and I end up with a lot of extra forwards

Kreider-Stepan-Nash

Buchnevich-Zibinajed-Zuccarello

Vesey-Hayes-Miller

however you work it, that would seem to be the ideal top 9 forwards

then you have Grabner, Fast, Gerbe, Jooris, Lindberg who will miss the first month and Tanner Glass kicking around. Also, Maxim Lapierre on PTO

Stromwall too, Niklas Jensen, Hrivik

a trade is inevitable

- jimbro83

Oh man… I forgot you guys have Grabner too. You guys are stacked.

Where do you guys see him playing? Saw some lineups with him on the 3rd line off-wing and thought to myself: "was this a hockey decision to play on the Rangers?"

With the Rangers the the top 9 are interchangeable, ice time is pretty even

3rd line for me. I did some digging on youtube. On some of Harvard's faceoffs in the offensive zone he lined up on his off wing so he can do it.

I thought PIT would've been the best hockey fit for him: take your pick of franchise or generational center, or at worst, a line with a pretty good winger/setup guy in Kessel.

I would like the 3rd line with his buddy Hayes. Might not work out, but at least start him on a line with someone he is comfortable with.

1.65 million for 9 goal Grabner. We should have offered 8 goal Cizickas 3+ million.

So you want to throw a guy with zero NHL experience on his off-wing to start?

That was not a slight. Having him on the 3rd line with Hayes might give the Rangers a decent scoring line. Dan Boyle was poop the moment he signed. Get off my lawn with that. All of you though Boyle would bounce back. He didn't. I was right you don't get to taunt me with that.

It's not uncommon for players to play the off wing. Many do it.

Thought Vesey is a LW. If he plays with Hayes and Miller he will play LW

That would be ideal. But on Harvard PP and some of their 0-zone faceoffs he lined up on the Right side. So it's not asking to walk on the moon.

A kid with a ton of expectations, but not given every chance to succeed? Doesn't sound like that was part of the sales pitch.
