Jimmy Vesey is going to be a twobit dime-a-dozen player. He'll score 12 goals next year and his career high will be 22 in 6 years. He'll carve out a journeyman career playing for 7 teams and will never make it past the second round.

I can understand why Vesey passed on the Leafs, too many good young prospects on the cusp of pushing their way into the line up. Martin and Rychel will be happy he went elsewhere. |

If Vesey wanted a situation where they would tell him you'll be on the team, I don't think ShanaLouCock could or would say that. And that's a good thing for the Leafs.
Regardless, this Vesey thing has to take the title of lamest hockey rumours saga ever. For all we know Zaitsev will be a more impactful free agent signing than this guy. We need some players to get in legal trouble or something, that's always fun. |

Happy we didn't sign him.
Been staying out of this convo for awhile.
With the trade for Rychel, I didn't see a fit for Vesey in the lineup. Would rather have our homegrown talent keep competing for roster spots, not give it to a snot nosed kid who thinks he deserves better than everyone that has been working their way onto rosters.
I feel like Vesey is going to end up like Leivo, at best. We have a bunch of them in our system already.
Remember the hype about Schultz? or the hype about Brunnstrom (the next Alfredsson).
Every year there is a few of these guys, and most of them don't really pan out. Panarin got it done. I like Krug, Hayes, and Dekeyser. but for everyone one of them, there are about 30 of these kids that are signed every year.

It's never a bad idea to add young talent. To say youre happy we didn't sign him says your happy the leafs didn't add and improve the organization. |

Perhaps some believe he wouldn't improve the organisation. I like young players to want to earn a spot as opposed to demanding a top 6 role. But that's just me |
