I really don't see him being much at all, but he could so wouldn't of hurt to sign him. Not like this is a huge blow to the leafs future. Also frenchie never really says college guys suck, I just don't think he was impressed with what Jimmy did at his age and compared to others he doesn't look like he's going to be a huge success story.. when guys like Eichel Connor Boesser have seasons like they have at college it is quite impressive considering age and the division they play in

Thrilled obviously. Considering the picks we've traded, signing college free agents is huge.

But it's something we've always been able to do. College kids love the idea of NYC. I think Gorton/Sather know that when they deal these 1sts and then go out and sign Kevin Hayes, Jimmy Vesey and Zuccarello (European UFA rather than colleg, but still loved the appeal of NYC)

With that said I think expectations for Vesey aren't as high as some pretend they are. The kid has a ceiling of a 20 goal scorer probably, but every team could use a couple of those.
