THe contract cap has no bearing on signing on a goalie. The Leafs are at 47 and only need to add a goalie. If they add a goalie and Vesey they would be at 49.

Likely some vets and/or young guys who can't all make the team moved out for late picks. Holland for example could be traded for a 4th or something just like Colborne was when we have no use for him.

Vesey isn't a goalie.

Why would the Leafs add a defenceman. As it is we'll have to carry 8 to start the season or waive Carrick(nope, he's a keeper) or waive Corrado. We already have too many.

Polak and Hunwick are only on this team to be traded. Any of these guys we can get a dime for will be traded.(likely none of them) Michalek, Laich, Greening, Lupul. Cowen buyout might still come through.

And if they are acquiring anybody it will be someone of value, which means at least a roster player and a prospect will be moved.

The only thing is they can't take on too many dead contracts to get picks and prospects, until the moves I talked about above happen.
