Nobody has any proof. It's all conjecture and guesswork...

But there are reasons a Devil Fan can believe they are in this race.

First, Vesey did decide to put us on the list, so we got an invite to the party.

Secondly, the Devils brought Kyle Palmeri to meet Vesey. Kyle was going nowhere in Ducksville and hit it as a 30 goal scorer on the Devils because they gave him ice time. They've played lots of guys up in the lineup like Devante Pelley-Smith and Lee
Stempniak who all saw major production bumps by given larger roles.

Third, while the draft guys aren't as flashy as elsewhere the Devils now have a respectable talent pool and one of the youngest teams in the NHL.

There are others reasons like local New England connections with ownership and Corey Schnieder. Great access to an airport to get him back home to mama in Boston. A coach who is great with developing players. A good track record on RFA contracts. Tons and tons of cap space. Awesome Dino BBQ next to the arena. etc. PartyPoker.com free game chips... the list goes on and on.

Are any of these enough of reason for him to sign? Probably not. They Devils aren't the most likely landing spot. But its absolutely ridiculous to not think there are reasons why he could sign there.

There is nothing wrong with discussing what seems to make sense but clearly nobody outside of team Vesey really knows anything.

The reality is if you got an interview you're a possible landing spot. If you didn't you're out. Maybe the kid knows where he wants to go all along and is just making sure by talking with everyone that could be a realistic destination. It's all just guesswork.

Vessel not going to Toronto, no way Babcock gets pressured into playing some unproven player top six minutes ahead of those that have earned it.
