The GOP was already messed up before Donald came along. All he did was motivate the far right. He's going to leave the party in shambles, worse than when he came along. I have zero faith in Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, Chris Christie to get the party back on track. This won't end with the republicans reinventing themselves, it'll end very messy.. He's already complaining about a rigged election so you know he's going to try to gain power by trying to make people rise up.. - Arctic_AARDVARK
oh (frank) he blathered on like that the last time he tried to become nominee
this time he succeeded
all the big wigs of the party arent endorsing him nor attending any of the functions
this will cause them to see that they better get their poop straightened out or they will be in for a long long haul of democratic presidencies

they're still supporting him. even if they arent publicly endorsing him.
I think now that this genie is out of the bottle, it'll be impossible to put it back in. Instead of nominating Jeb or Kasich and try to appeal to a wider base, they allowed the party to be hijacked by a demagogue. Once a certain percentage of the population buys into the rhetoric theres no going back. too much division now.

i honestly think they support him out of need and not desire
as this election rolls on they will fade more and more into the back
this will be a wake up call for the right in the US
there is 0 chance he wins... victories depend way too much on the moderate swing votes these days... and he has alienated that group... clinton will be the next president easily... the left will come out in droves and the voting moderate will swing her way.
this is gonna end up being a loss of epic proportions for the republicans... so much so that even trump's accusations of fraud will be just words in the wind.

Mainstream conservatives - George Will, David Frum - in the US are very unhappy. Trump has turned the Republican Party into a white nationalist entity and could cause conservatism to need to find a new home.

They are so franking delusional right now.
They are claiming the polls are rigged, and Trump really has leads in California and New York.

Clinton will win no doubt..
I just don't think he'll go away quietly. His supporters are too riled up.. He pushed them to a level that's almost unprecedented.. They actually think they are a majority so if they lose they'll cry foul.. I think America is a powderkeg.. every issue they are divided on. You got hundreds of militias waiting for a reason to do something stupid.

when reality sets in the voting right in the states is going to have a very big wake up call
i understand what AA is saying.. that this could be precedent for the world to turn into the movie idiocracy... but i think it will cause the right to reinvent themselves to better appeal to a more moderate left thinking world
the hard left and the hard right is becoming more and more moderate... the party to see that first will have a huge advantage... the states also has a very very very big contingent of young voters who want the country to embrace socialism and add it to its culture to better reflect the lifestyles of its western counterparts

I agree that the genie's not going back into the bottle. Trump has legitimized racism, intolerance and stupidity as a political statement. Republicans used to hint at those things to keep the fringe vote but it is front and centre now and too many people like it.
