If what your saying is true then how could there be 30 teams interested ....
- Redmile247

Edler is Canucks best Dman despite you expert insight. He is 30 years old and has a good contract for the next three years. He plays 25 minutes a night against other teams top lines. He is first unit on PP and on PK . He is also Canucks best scoring D man.

I am sure every GM has gone to an NHL game or two and seen him shut down their top players.

Your distaste for Canucks is getting more and more stupid every day. Take this crap somewhere else.

And no I don't want to debate if Vrbata could hypothetically score 31 goals for a team he doesn't play for anymore.

Only way I see them moving Edler this year is if they are way out of the playoffs. Too important to the team and they don't have any one in the system close to being able to fill his shoes.
- belcherbd

I never said they were moving him. I just pointed out the article Gregg was talking about.

But the Canucks are a 28th place team.

I can't see Edler being traded. if JB had planned to move him, he likely would have inked Hamhuis for a couple more years so we wouldn't have that hole.

It seems like a trade that addresses needs for both clubs. True it creates holes for both clubs but still sounds like a decent hockey trade.

It doesn't hurt you guys cap wise either.

I just don't see how they could trade our all around best D man, as sad as that is, and still claim they are trying to be competitive. There's no way they get back enough to make up for the hole they'd be creating. It's a pretty inexperienced D core as it is.

Here is an idea to play with.

I think the offer mentioned before was Gorges and Kane for the first round pick next year.

Gorges is not as good as Edler but he can hold the fort for two years . You get Kane as the main piece back for a spot we sorely need an upgrade.

Say then you did trade Edler to Arizona let's say for Keller and Tobias Reider.

That would be Kane Reider Keller in , covering two left wings and a future center for Edler and a first. Costly but fills some gaping holes.

The Buffalo trade wouldn't work with your cap situation.

Isn't there somewhere else you can promote your illegal drug use instead of here?
