The Devils will finish with more points than both Buffalo and Toronto this upcoming season. It's funny how much Buffalo fans LOVE their team.

I know, who wants to be a fan of a team and, you know, have optimism about them. (frank)ing crazy!!

BTW, the more alts you make, the longer the bans get on each account...

I believe he was counting hall even though Hall hasn't scored 30.

Really that is how you a better. Sabres went from 54 points to 81 points. Clearly they are getting better and are on the rise. Devils went from 78 to 84. Not that impressive. I bet you everything including kitchen sink sabres have more points then devils at the end of the year.

Also power rankings

I'd make that bet with your goaltending and defense.

Thanks for that and agreed. I think ghost is an amazing dman and they flyers are doing fine with a moderate prospect pool overall. They have been pretty quiet in FA and lack a lot of firepower up front and shaky in goal.

Mason is shakey in goal?

Really sabres have Lehner who has shown good signs in games he played and they prolly have the best goalie prospect pool in NHL. Good try though. Flyers have two backup goalies as starters.
- hanleyaj

So you have a starter who has shown "good signs" and a goalie prospect and you think the Flyers are shaky in goal but the Sabres are just fine?

I'd take your shaky goaltending in a second and that's after getting excellent goaltending in the playoffs this past season. I thought we were discussing why Vesey wouldn't want to go somewhere? Who really gives a (frank) this kid will probably fall right on his face these fans losing their minds over this kid are pretty funny. Let it shake out he'll go wherever he wants for his own reasons but I doubt the Flyers "shaky" goaltending with Mason will be a determining factor. Do these guys watch hockey?
I'm failing to see what exactly makes Buffalo the best destination for this kid? Friends with Eichel and "potential" aren't the biggest selling points imo and I doubt they are for him. Who knows maybe he'll sign there if he does great but what makes that such a great spot for him?

Lazy analysts like Milbury and Roenick educate the masses with lazy narratives about the Flyers goaltending situation being worrisome. Mason has been damn good since he got to Philadelphia and they now have the goalie who was too good for Buffalo's tank job backing him up.

I would say it is less that than Philly just has a reputation of shaky goal-tending at this point. I agree, it's a lot more solid than people give you credit for; but the reputation is still there. It is like with the Devil, they no longer play the trap; however, people talk still think they play trap hockey whenever they are against the Devils. Once a team gets a negative reputation, it is hard to break from it.

I get what you're saying, but that isn't true either. Saying Philly's goaltending is shaky while it is actually a strength around the league is just flat out wrong and shows a lack of awareness.

While the Devils dont officially use the trap anymore, it is still associated with boring, low event hockey...something the Devils are still very much guilty of.

I'd love that. Not even bcs we'd have vesey but more to do with the hockeybuzz hotstove thread that'd follow the signing.

What a brutal argument for adding a LW.

I agree ... a few posters last week were arguing he is top ten in the league? One really good year in 2014-15 in 50-55 games!!!! There were also posters that ranked him above Fleury, Murray and Martin Jones.

Hey, it's a good point but how the (frank) are responsible coaches trying to win in the best hockey league on earth going to play a third round overage Player with zero pro experience on their top line?
