can you explain why ppl like trouba so much?he's a top 4 d at best, sure we could use that style of a D but i just don't think hes that good or worth it. Im interested to see how good zaitsev is, perhaps he could play with reilly, i think we need to make a trade for d but i would not say trouba is worth anybody on our team, i wouldnt trade komarov or jvr or kadri, id trade bozak plus a prospect for him

Other than Reilly, do you really think there is a Leaf defenceman that would be remotely close to fair value for Trouba ?

But at what cost? It's not like we have enough depth else where to take from to fill the d spot without hurting the other area.

Reilly gardiner and hopefully zaitsev works out. Maybe carrick (really impressed with him ) works out to be a regular.

I just don't see the need to rush to get a dman when we don't know what we really have on the back end( Dermott Nielsen might be really solid dman) and still don't know what carrick and zaitsev are.

honestly i thought hunwick was great last year, great bottom paringin guy and can move up to 2nd line if needed, reailly zaitsev should be good, i think gardiner must go, hes the same as reilly but not as good, you don;t need two d that dont know how to play d, great offensive upside but we can only afford to have one liability on the blueline. If we could trade gardiner bozak for a 2nd line D i would be very happy

in the end the nhl owns the league, they allow the leafs to be part of it and make money and share profits through the cba, it is what it is, nobody holding a gun to them forcing them to sign the contract. Without it the nhl wouldnt be competitive and would end up like other sports with elite teams and absolute trash teams that shouldnt even be in the same league, ive always enjoyed the fact that nhl is very competitive and extremely hard to pick a cup winner every year, basketball you can pick three teams and get it right every year, football i could get it with five teams.

He's 22 yo and plays 22 minutes plus a night, and has led the jets in shtoi and 5 on 5 toi. And he's been saddled with mark stuart and no pp time. He's already more than just a top 4.
