No point trading for Shat when he will be a free agent next year.

Leafs need a backup goalie more than a stud defenceman this year (year 2 of rebuild).

Fans need to be patient.

But at what cost? It's not like we have enough depth else where to take from to fill the d spot without hurting the other area.

Reilly gardiner and hopefully zaitsev works out. Maybe carrick (really impressed with him ) works out to be a regular.

I just don't see the need to rush to get a dman when we don't know what we really have on the back end( Dermott Nielsen might be really solid dman) and still don't know what carrick and zaitsev are.
