Have you forgotten what people like you were saying last year about our goaltending?
- SomeoneGerman

Sabres are going to go from 16th to 26th. This is just rich. I love this.
Johnson: .920 sv%
Lehner .924 sv%
Obviously Johnson was better. With additions to the blueline and a healthy starter the Sabres should definitely let in an extra 40 goals this year.

Peter Fish, J. Vesey agent, said reports that it's down to NYR and Chi. are not accurate. Said a handful of teams involved, including B's

Oh man, this better end today.

No. We were saying that Lehner couldn't be depended upon (which was correct) and that Johnson was a sieve.

And then Johnson went and had a career year.

Maybe lightning strikes again and Nilsson surprises big time. Maybe Lehner finally stays healthy and plays 65 games.

But those are pretty big maybe's for a team that is aiming for 95 points.

I'll happily come on here and eat crow in February if we are anywhere near a playoff spot. But I really don't see it. Only Toronto keeps us from the cellar of the Northeast is my prediction.

- Losman

I don't see it (what your saying ) Every team in the league can have the same issues and success . Try not to be a Eeyore.

I would not be shocked if the 2016-17 sabres are in the top 5 for goals scored

Why do we need our backup to be amazing? Last I checked he was a backup, no?

"Oh but Lehner could get hurt" So then we have Ullmark? And Price got hurt, too. Must be injury prone!

A lot of teams have a rough time when their starter goes down. IF it happens there are also at least 4 credible goaltenders out there to acquire.

The backup position is not that big of a deal

Goaltending won't be an issue. Unless it's awful.

Question marks are defense and depth. I don't see us with a playoff caliber blue line, and I see two competent lines, not 3

Was it confirmed that he bailed on Nashville because of market-size ? Because if this is the case then GMTM threw away the pick.

What I mean by 'ripple effect' is that with the past regime; players/agents/fans just tossed off the Sabre organization as a whole as not even being an option. By GMTM throwing his hat into the ring it basically lets player/agents, etc. know that he's a player. He's ready, willing and able to make a move to make the team better.

Moving forward - if any free agents, etc. are available they'll at the very least listen to Buffalo whereas that did not happen in the past. Brad Richards, for instance, (bad example) I'm sure openly laughed when his agent got the call.

- Pairo11

Well, we didn't get the "big fish" and Jeff Zatkoff reneged on an agreement to come here, so I'm not sure the ripple you speak of actually took effect.

GMTM talks a big game and we love him for it. The O'Reilly trade looks great right now. But just about every other move he's made has backfired. He burned #21 overall for Robin Lehner and now might have burned a 3rd for nothing. Evander Kane has been an embarrassment to the organization and Bogosian has yet to impress for an extended period.

Just saw a Tweet that Fish said the two-team race reports are NOT accurate and a decision could be delayed until Saturday..

You know who was below us in GA? Boston. With Rask. Montreal, when their starter went down and they had their backup play. Edmonton. With the goalie we "Should have gotten". Dallas, who is paying out the ass for goaltending.

The Rangers let in 5 more goals than we did and they have Lundqvist

I'm just so confused as to why this is still an issue

Seems everyone has a source that says it's down to so and so teams. Somebody is having some fun out there with the media

Robin Lehner has played 107 games in 6 years.

He has never played more than 36 games in a season.

He has never won more than 12 games in a season.

Like another trade? Or Kulikov?

If Kulikov is forced to play a top 2 role, I don't see the defense being a big improvement

Over Gorges? I see it as an improvement 7 days of the week. You took your 2nd defender and made him your 6th. That's better.

You can't win them all and it's going to take some time. Who knows what happened with the Zatkoff thing. Getting a ring can change your mind.

I didn't like the Kane part of the Myers trade when it went down. My jury is still out on Lehner. I like Bogo.

As long as you're at it please tell me who the 2015 21st overall pick is playing for this year.

Or you can start with the abbreviation of the League he plays in.

gotta think risto and mccabe get a little better

kulikov is an upgrade over pysyk

if the D was a 6 on a scale from 1-10 last year, if healthy they have to be close to a 7 this year

Idk, maybe I'm just caught up in all the glitz. The team had its problems last year and this offseason didn't do everything I wanted but I don't know how we can think we got worse. The only thing we lost was a backup goaltender. We talk all the time about if you don't have an amazing goalie then all you need is an okay one. Hell, Enroth is still out there.

I just don't see one thing that makes us worse.
