Nelson looked ready to play last year. Unless he falls on his face in camp he should be in the bottom two and Franson should be rooted in press box.

A 3rd pairing defenseman would be a cheap way to help us over Franson and Gorges. Ideally a 2nd pairing defensman that pushes Franson down.

I bet you start Nelson in the AHL. He looked fine last year but Fasching did too and he'll be expected to go to the AHL. Let him play more minutes and get the call-up if he's ready.

If Guhle can't go to the AHL I say keep him up. He'll learn more playing in the NHL for 10-15 minutes a night than he will playing 22 in the CHL.

John Christiano, scout for the Sabres was on GR the other day and said they need 8 dman, because they'll have injuries throughout the year. We know who the top 6 is and assuming Guhle goes back to Jr and Nelson spends the year in Rochester, we'll have Falk which to me we'll need one more. He said they are looking for depth d aman.

Yea he sometimes says stuff out of the blue (kind of his job) and it all seems to happen pretty quick after that, where it is clear he was accurate.
