All he did was exercise his right under the CBA, but now so many people hate the kid and lots more will once he picks a team because of all the media attention more than anything he's said or done.

No hate for the guy. I have no problem with him telling two teams he wants to go to FA. I'm not going to blame him for Garth's excesses. I just him as someone fighting for a roster spot if he joins the Leafs. Let's see what he picks and if he just wants to play close to home or if he thinks he should be playing first line minutes with Toews or Syd.

i don't blame him for what he is doing. and i don't think he is making a big deal of it, he has actually been quite quit and just done what he needed to do. it's the media that is doing this.
