Geez it's getting very testy in here. The Flyers fans and Leafs fans are going at it. Not sure why we're all in the same boat here. Everyone's city is beautiful and you're both beautiful now let's shake hands and hate Boston together

It's like when best friends fight over the hot girl in high school.

Or in this case, the girl is about a 4 out of 10, but other than her it's an all-boys school.

So if Garth's thread is forever locked what is the point of him posting blogs?

If Detroit was too far from home then I'd think Chicago would be too far also. Not much distance between them. Sounds like he wants to be on the East coast only. I hope he gets traded to Vancouver after the first year.

I'm actually going to Philly & Atlantic City next weekend
Any advice on things to do?
Places to eat/drink?

- jdfitz77

AC stay off the center of the island. Hang at the Casinos. Most Casinos have good food and drink places in them. I've done most of the Celebrity places and Guy Fieri's place in Bally's is decent for the price. Bobby Flay's at the Borgata is a little pricy for what you get, I'd do Wolfgang Puck's place there over Bobby's. Also remember waitresses on the casino floor can't tell you they can get you a drink (beer, one shot and a mixer, or wine) but they can and it's free just tip them a couple.

Get a cheesesteak from Jim's, Steve's or Tony Luke's if you want a good one... NOT GENO'S OR PAT'S.

I'm not up on the local spots in Philly much but check Opentable, I've found a few nice pre concert places this spring and summer by using it and going off the recent reviews. I'd say you can find good eats nearby where ever you are staying as the city really does have a good food scene.

If you don't think GM's are doing sales pitches to get him to play for them you don't understand the business side of the game. They will do the selling of what they have and also slam the other sides behind closed doors and pray they win the deal. NHL money right now isn't going to be what decides this it's going to be what else there is to offer and that's where a good GM will use every dirty trick in the book to win. And if you know Hextall's playing career he was one slimy dude and yes Philly loves him for it .

I hear ya
I just don't think that Philly stands out above some other places based on what Vesey is looking for

I wouldn't be surprised to see u get Hudler or Pirri though!
Both of whom is also like here

THANKS!

By the way I did love my stay in Toronto last summer. It was fun but just seemed odd going to a different country and feeling the same city vibe with a little less attitude then I get locally

Yes all our cities are beatiful in their own way.

Difference is Detroit is far and not great, Chicago is far and has 3 cups in the last 10 years. So he might be able to overlook that distance.

But I agree on the Vancouver part. It'd be a hoot.

Someone on the Chicago board just said that his agent mentioned only wanting to play for a Eastern Conference team. No quote/link given so I have nothing to point to other than the poster saying it

Thanks man! Appreciate it
One of my best friends bartends in one of the clubs at the Borgata, so she's gonna show us around AC a bit
We aren't gamblers, so we're gonna avoid the Casinos for the most part

Appreciate the cheesesteak advice
I think I might have to go to ALL FIVE!

I had guessed that but figured the lure of a cup run can sometimes change that. If it's true it takes away a big competitor but until I see a quote like the Detroit one I won't write them off.
