ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Bills NT Marcell Dareus is facing a four-game suspension for another violation of the league's substance-abuse policy.
It's yet another hit for a Bills team that's been absolutely ravaged by injury and suspension this summer. Dareus served a one-game ban last season after being charged with possession of synthetic marijuana. Dareus will probably appeal the suspension, but those are rarely fruitful. With their first four games against the Ravens, Jets, Cardinals and Patriots, the Bills are in grave danger of starting 0-4.

Philly has things that Hextall can use and it's up to him to figure it out not me.

Some I can think of:

Philly has a great tie to USA Hockey with Ed Snider's work which might be usable.

Our history of making the playoffs is second to Detroit in the last 25 years and can never be underestimated cause once you are in the playoffs anything can happen.

The lure of the Flyers which many players have said is partly because the way the organization treats them from the minute they sign a contract with the team. (I know other teams have this also) Once a Flyer always a Flyer.

Most people only think of the bad of the Philly fans but the good fans are some of the most knowledgeable and passionate in the country.

There's more that I'm not thinking of but it's really like I said who's GM is the best Used Car salesman in the time when they make their pitches.

Not sure he's basing it on the last 25 years. Otherwise we can get the Habs in here and start talking about "In the last century we won this many cups". I'd think last 5 years would be the max of historical reference and probably less than that and more focused on the future.

And there are good and bad from each team. Philly's best merits are its players right now. If Vesey goes there it's because of the talent they have on the team.

Is this confirmed or is this "Yeah it happened, the finnish guy said so".

Also, if Detroit is too far away then Buffalo must be right on the cut off point if it's not also too far. Same goes for Pittsburgh.

There are debates to almost everything anyone posts on to why he would play in one place over another.

I just want it over with already.

Why would anyone go to Philly?

That town is a dump.

I was there a couple of years ago - went downtown to look at this giant bell that apparently is a big deal or something.

IT HAD A GIANT CRACK IN IT!

And someone had tried to make this half-assed repair on it, which obviously didn't work.

Philly?

As if.

Well then there ya go. I guess a 12 hour drive is too much. Strange that a 7-8 hour drive wouldn't be too much, then. Makes me feel like he stays within a half a days drive, aka, NY, Boston, Philly. Toronto maybe, but then that's the same distance as Buffalo.

All this coming from a guy who's team plays in a city that wishes it was an American city. It feels like New York and Philly without the guts to tell anyone to go (frank) themselves when it needs to be said.

How does any of that sound more appealing than Pitt?

You're really looking though rose colored (or orange! Haha) glasses here

There's been nothing from his agent to think USA hockey will factor into the decision at all

As far as winning & playoffs goes...
It's Pitt & Chicago, and then everyone else

There's lots of good organizations
I can see Philly get the nod over NJ & NYi, but other than that I see them in the same class as the other suitors

Everyone he's talking too also has great fans

Idk why u think it'll come down to a used car salesman pitch?
He's gonna weigh what he hears from everyone,
And see how that fits with his criteria

A sales pitch isn't gonna make Philly a better place to win than Pitt
Or a better place to play than his hometown
Or give him a better idea of what it's like to play there then like talking to Jack about Buffalo

Not that Philly is a bad place or anything
Like I said...
They just don't stand out among the rest

It's either Pitt, Chicago, Boston or Buffalo

If you don't think GM's are doing sales pitches to get him to play for them you don't understand the business side of the game. They will do the selling of what they have and also slam the other sides behind closed doors and pray they win the deal. NHL money right now isn't going to be what decides this it's going to be what else there is to offer and that's where a good GM will use every dirty trick in the book to win. And if you know Hextall's playing career he was one slimy dude and yes Philly loves him for it .

Geez it's getting very testy in here. The Flyers fans and Leafs fans are going at it. Not sure why we're all in the same boat here. Everyone's city is beautiful and you're both beautiful now let's shake hands and hate Boston together
