I mean he did win a Hobey Baker and score 56g over the final 70gp of his college career. Nobody is saying the kid is going to be a superstar, but it's not like he should be regarded as utterly irrelevant either. Especially when a team has to give up literally nothing to get him. It's newsworthy, especially during a pitifully-slow news cycle.
