Teams don't just draft a guy, let him go to college, and and then get in touch 4 years later and say hey let's get a deal done. They work with the player on their offseason routines, check in on them during the year, etc.

For example when Johnny Geadreau was in this situation, he signed with Calgary, the team that drafted him, had been loyal to him, showed faith in him, and stuck with him. He stated that he wanted to reward Calgary for their efforts.

Maybe Nashville treated JV like a a red-headed step child, but I haven't heard that from any source. My understanding is this is just Lindros-syndrome. I smell a greasy attention whoring agent behind this.... he doesn't happen to J Drouin's agent does he?

All I know is if Vesey does not score at least 20 goals this season he is going to get killed by fans and media, of whatever team he signs with, and he only has himself to blame.
