I have done quite a bit of business in Chicago for years and my biggest client always takes me to a game if the Hawks are in town. The crowds have been big for many years, even before they were a top team. Wirtz Snr used to be referred to by the locals as "Dollar Bill" because of how cheap he was. But you are quite correct, the franchise took off as soon as Jr. took over - hired Tallon then Bowman and spent some money.

small town BC isnt even into the Canucks...they are more into the Alberta teams based on my experience visiting a BC town
