I feel like they'd be up there if it changes by income per year. 3 Stanley cups, along with one of the largest arenas, and now with those wins a huge fan base.
Just a thought. - RickJames77
As far as I know, the NHL does not actually release the numbers surrounding revenue sharing, so you'd have to speculate.
There are certain rules, however - like you can't receive revenues if your tv area population is above a certain number.
And keep in mind: the Forbes numbers are educated guesses.

Don't the Hawks have their home games on PPV?
They used to when no one showed up to the games.

It's a bit of an amazing story - basically the owner of the team died or turned it over to his son (sons?) who started running the team properly.
I remember reading here on Hockeybuzz (and keep in mind I've only been a "member" here for 10 years) that a Chicago fan was offered seats on the glass for a game - because he had signed up to be on their junk email list.

I think its if they don't have x amount of season ticket holders. - the_eye
There are various conditions - I'll see if I can google them up.
The funniest one I can remember is that you have to have sold a certain amount of tickets every year to qualify for revenue sharing payments. Nashville was going to fall short, so they bought a wack of tickets from themselves to qualify.

Penguins are #11, skewed by playoff success - team was in bankruptcy not long ago. If you are wondering NJ is #21 - winsix
Gotta think merch sale in TO have dropped like 75%... When the Leafs are good they easily generate the most revenue.. You'd think the league would suffer when the Leafs suck but its actually the opposite.

Yeah, Wirtz Snr. died and Wirtz Jr. realised that certain policies such as "if they care about the team they'll pay to come" were based on somewhat flawed logic. Queue up some new local TV deals in addition to having stockpiled a few nice, high picks over the years and they were ready to breakout at just the right time...
Yeah, but I very much doubt that an Australian astrophysicist is going to come on by the pages of hockeybuzz... Frenchie knowing of me is just a happy coincidence on his part

Merchandise is a league revenue that they all share equally.
