I remember some woman calling in to a radio show complaining about a moose crossing sign and that it should be located somewhere else so the moose would cross the road somewhere else

While your statement is true, the best hockey players are generally quite smart. See list from an article on NHL.com

No they don't pay money o other teams, they pay if to the league and the leagugue distributes it to other teams..
- the_eye

What is it like 8-10 teams that do this? The Leafs probably more than any other, just curious.

You guys should put wi-fi routers on half of your moose, there would be free wi-fi province wide.

I think the Leafs Rangers and Canadiens all pay a huge chunk.

I was joking about the cap circumvention but you guys don't pay stink to the other teams as far as I know. Do you want to go back to a six team league to make things easier on you? Plus when there was no cap you didn't win either...so you're suffering the same.

I completely get that wealth teams don't like cost controls to keep the league competitive, but considering it exist in Baseball, Football and Basketball too it's sort of where the world is at. And has been for a while now.

- Queenie_5_hole

There are transfer payments to struggling NHL teams - Leafs and Rangers have paid the maximum since Bettman put this rule in front of the board and it was approved. Carolina for example owes more than $30 million to the league which they may never recover, Arizona has been floated for almost as long as they have existed. - you qualified it as "as far as you know" - Verdict - you don't know.

As far as not winning with an uncapped league, that is true between 1968 and 2005 the Leafs suffered through terrible management and ownership. The management is no longer an issue. Exception was 1993

There are no hard caps like the NHL - in either baseball (see Yankees and Dodgers payroll numbers!!!!) or basketball. Cannot compare a weak Luxury tax system to a hard cap.

I don't want a 6 team league - although we might see better hockey if we had a 20 team league.

Update on #Leafs Cowen: according to sources he will have another grievance hearing yet to be scheduled. Expected soon.

- burn

I'm supposed to have another grievance hearing with Mrs. Wedgie to find out why she puts her dirty dishes in the sink instead of the dishwasher.

It's yet to be scheduled, and I don't expect it soon.

I thought the Bruins would be up there too, but those, along with the Hawks, were the first 4 that came to mind.

I feel like they'd be up there if it changes by income per year. 3 Stanley cups, along with one of the largest arenas, and now with those wins a huge fan base.

Just a thought.

But are their ticket prices as high and do they make as much on the local tv deals.
