I'm totally going to be unreasonably skeptical about Vesey even if he signs with the Leafs. Not signing with your draft team is a punk move to me and doing well in NCAA means nothing. I'll usually be rah rah optimistic fanboy biased about Leaf moves but I can't get exited about this one if it happens. Don't like Vesey already, see no reason why he should have any impact to get excited about.

Yeah, with all the hype you'd think people are saying this guy can be a top ten scorer in the NHL or something. It just seems like these top college fa signings are never really a big deal. If he is a depth NHL player like a Bozak, great, free asset, but not a big deal.

Personally I believe a drafted player owes his drafting team his ELC, and nothing beyond that. Unless that player waits the full time to finish his junior/college career and enters the league as a UFA at the sacrifice of playing those years for a salary.

Which Vesey did, so it's moot for this case.

But you could also say that guy just wasn't good enough. In this case, Nashville's offering Vesey an NHL spot and he's turning it down. I don't know, I just feel like you should prove you can play in the NHL before you start turning down the first spot you get offered.
