For what's it's worth, hockeypress is still saying that if Vesey doesn't happen for the Devils, plan B is to trade Kinkaid+ for JVR.
- willschulme

Zacha should be untouchable right now. He could be better than JVR have to wait and see. Kinkaid I'd trade for a skate sharpener though. Like a really nice skate sharpener.

They traded the 2nd best defenseman in the league for an older, slower and less dynamic guy. The Habs, are in my mind, the 2nd worst team in the Atlantic. Bottom 5 team in the league.

That Shaw contract is an absolute disaster. A Clarkson type debacle.

Love that everyone considered weber one of the best dmen in the league playing on the top pair for an Olympic gold medal team to a bum the moment he's traded to Montreal.

The Habs are going to be bad, but it's not going to be because of Weber. It'll be because Price can't stay healthy, Markov is too old and their forward corps is extremely thin.

Weber hasn't been an elite defenseman in more than half of a decade. In my opinion, he never was.

Price being healthy or not changes nothing, their team is absolute garbage.

Schneider has proven that the right goalie can carry a garbage roster. The Devils should have been with the Sabres, Leafs and Oilers the past few years.

Didn't look like garbage last year UNTIL Price went down. If he is healthy I totally expect them to have a respectable season.

I'd like to hear your arguments as to why you think Weber is elite. He's always been surrounded by amazing defenseman and has always looked average without them. He's a 2nd defenseman on a contending team.

So you're saying that you think that Price is as good as Schneider?

No way. I don't see it. Schneider didn't have defensemen like Subban on his team. You'll see that Price will be exposed to be a below average goaltender without a great defenseman. His stats also prove that he's an average goaltender.

443 points in 763 career games. 166 of them goals. Takes poop from absolutely no one and is a career plus player.

If Price is healthy I don't think they will be. But the likely won't make the playoffs either.

I get in to the who is better Price or Schneider all the time with my buddy, I got to watch Price play his JRS with the AMS here. I think Schneider is as good if not a little better then Price IMO, But anyone who thinks Montreal is the same with or with out Price is a just plain stupid. look at that them when he is healthy and playing as opposed to out for the year. he absolutely carries that team the way Schneider has done for us over the last couple of years.

Looking at all the rosters out east, I see maybe two teams that I think might be worse: the Senators and the Blue Jackets. Montreal is the only team with no superstars up front or on the blueline.

His Save percent and GAA have been stellar the past three seasons. Only issue I can see with Price is health.

I didn't like the Weber trade either, they got a defenseman who is older and has a worse contract and whos game has started to decline, but I'm not quite as down on Weber as you are. They also had a pair of 30 goal scorers last year.

I'm 50/50 on them making the playoffs, but I don't see them bottom 5. Unless Price misses the season.

30 goal scorers are superstars? Pacioretty is one of the most useless 30 goal scorers in the game. He reminds me of Ryder. Brings nothing to the table.

Pacioretty, a superstar? Common. Give your head a shake. Even Habs fans would laugh at that one.

I never said superstar. But keep in mind there were only 28 players with 30 goals last year. Two of them were on Montreal. Scoring is down, like I said, 50/50 on the playoffs with Price.
