Sure..

But JVR isnt really that go to guy.. He's nothing special defensively, doesnt do much to fire the team up (unless he scores).. He doesnt show a lot of emotion.

I'm pleased to be writing this blog for my linemate, Eklund.

Hockey is my business and business is good! I'm a student of the game
and I'm not afraid to to call out players, coaches, managers, and
owners for disrespecting MY NHL. I'm old school... While all the kids
onmy block wanted to be Gilbert Perrrault and Dave Keon in road
hockey, I wanted to be Jerry Korab or Harold Snepts. I'm a cranky wiener
who fancies himself a guardian of this greatgame. I'll use this
pulpit to preach the puck gospel. Game On!

I was the kid in school whofelt most comfortable expressing
himself with his Crayola 64 pack, and later, a can of silver metallic
Krylon on the highway overpass wall.

I wasn't born with a synergy stick in my hand. I'm all about
twigs that don't snap when you lean into a slapper. I hated Cooper Alls
and Jofa lids; Visors are for cowards and pretty boys. You wanna go,
Racky? Next face off, center ice!

Now that we've got that cleared up, letsdrop the biscuit,eh?

JOHNNY MUCKS HATES THE LEAFS

Wanna know how you beat a bully? You hit him with a throat punch and a
flurry to the squash. When he's on the ground, you put the boots to
him. That's exactly what the Senators have done to the Listless Leafs
so far this season. The Leafs have been brutalizing the Sens for the
past decade.Johnny Muckshas seen enough! When Jacques Martin
lost to the Leafs in the Playoffs in 03/04, it took Johnny Mucks
exactly 23 seconds to make up his mind: he and Eugene Melnyck had had
enough of passive aggressive Mother Theresa brand ofhockey; it
was time for a paradigm shift to sandpaper and jam hockey. Out with
Martin, in with Murray.Out with Bonk, in with McGratton; Out with
slippery, heartless Euros, and in with Spezza, Neil, Fisher,
Volchenkov, et al.. The Senshave punked the Leafs so far this
preseason. The games haven't evenbeen close. The scoreboard only
tells part of the story: Pat Quinn's boys have rolled over and played
dead against the Sens. Belak, Domi, Tucker, McCabe, and Perrot,
have been limp and lifeless since Roberts and Niewendyk joined Keenan
in Florida. The Buds are a shadow of their former self. No more
Wendell; no more Dougie; No more Vaive; No more Muller; Corson is
gone... and the memory remains. The Leafs have fallen and they can't
get up. Sundin, Lindros, and Allison will be marked men everytime the
Leafs and Sens hook up. The only two guys on the Leafs roster with
gonads are Marchment and Stumpy Thomas- and they are in camp without
contracts for this season. Hasek will put the Transylvanian Mind Lock
onBelfour. The Sens will win theone onone battles and
they will continue to drop their gloves to prove that their team is not
a collection of overpaid divas.

Johnny Mucks feels like he can win a Cup this season. He's got the
horses, and he's got a coach who has ahuge chip on his
shoulder.Pat Quinn is counting the days until the Olympics begin.

Its gonna be a long miserable season for all you Leaf fans. You can
thank JFJ and the Toronto Teachers Pension Planforthe
commitment to mediocrity. The Ballard years will be revisited at The
ACC on a nightly basis this season. Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa,
Vancouver, and Montreal are all improved. The Leafs are Canada's 6th
best team! Ouch!

That's my story, and I'm stickin to it!

If I was the Habs, I'd trade for Lupul.

No wait, bear with me here.

A black injury cloud hangs over Lupul wherever he goes.

So if the Habs had Lupul, it lessens the chances of Price getting hurt again.

The bad luck fairies show up to cast a groin injury spell on Price?

Lupul trips and falls in front of Price, gets hit with the groin injury spell, plus fractures his right wrist.

Yeah, you know you can't afford to not do this.

Gimme a call - I'll fax you some trade papers.

It makes sense.

Cars on my street have to switch over to the other side at midnight tonight, so it only stands to reason that hockey players would switch teams at midnight tonight.

I get burned by Officer Davies at least once per year because of the midmonth switch.

Damn you Davies !!

Me either - going to the Bruins Habs game on the 22nd. I'm sure I'll leave the garden as I usually do in those Saturday match ups. Drunk, filled with self pity and utter disdain for almost every decision made by the players and coaching staff. Other than that it'll be a good time.

Mostly on the offensive side. They are pretty damn solid on D.

I think this is the manager but there seems to be too many situations where they don't drop a bunt or take something off a swing to advance a runner. I feel like they leave SO many runners on base because everyone seems to go out and swing for the fences.

I realize I am nitpicking pro's that sit in first place right now but it seems like the best of the best can play that well rounded game through and through. The Jays give off that vibe of a one-dimension offense a lot of games and that worries me a bit.

Again, all opinion and conjecture but at least I've formed this opinion watching a lot.

Well at least you're having fun.... right?

I'd like to go to a Habs/Bruins game in Boston one day, my best memories at the Bell center are games vs Boston (there have been some epic battles over the years).

Problem is, I usually get pretty arrogant when I'm drunk so the odds of me getting beat up if I go all alone are pretty high.

My minivan was being towed yesterday - a neighbour phoned to warn me. Buddy already had it jacked - I had to pay $190 just to have him drop it.

According to the tow truck driver, Mayor Tory has changed the rules - you can't wait until license renewal time to pay your tickets. If they write you a ticket and see you have outstanding ones, they will tow. You've been warned.

Made for a fairly angry conversation between me and Mrs. Wedgie last night about her unpaid tix.

The only good thing about the whole experience was the meter maid (who was in a pissy mood) had to hang around - somebody had hit his car, so he was waiting for the cops to show up. And apparently they made him wait for an hour or so - HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

A guy I do business with is a die-hard Habs fan. He said he went down for a road trip with some friends to watch a game in Boston then in Philly. I believe he said it was around 2010. BOTH games he said they had to leave mid-game because how badly they were being harassed and getting stuff tossed at them.

....WE DON'T NEED NO WATER, LET THE *&%$#@!*& -ER BURN....BURN *&^%$#@!-ER, BURN !!

You'll have to indulge memy fun. My boy Dion Phaneuf and his
Calgary Flames are en fuego, and they seem to have found their steely
resolve that propelled them into the Stanley Cup Finals in 03/04. So
much has changed from that squad to this, and dare I say, this squad is
so much better equipped to kick some serious ass in the West. Dion
Freakin Phaneuf has been an Grade stud for Coach Sutter ! In my
opinion, if I were to have to name an MVP and a rookie Of The
Yearin the league in this moment, my vote would go to Mr.
Phaneuf. Every night, this kid is growing up before our very eyes. His
on-ice contributions are conspicuous and his lunch-bucket-work ethic
has been contagious. He's living upto all the advanced billing
and he's making it look easy!

To this point in his rookie season,
Dionhasearned21:50 per game in valuable ice time, and
don't be surprised if that number increase to 25:00 by Christmas time.
By comparison, Phaneufhas loggedmore ice time than Brian
Rafalski, Adam Foote, Scott Hannan, and Franken Chara. Not bad comapny,
eh? Look up and down the Calagry D corps and you'll see
theNHLs best collection of DMonsters-a deep and talented
group of ass kickers in Rhett Warrener, Robyn Regehr, Jordan Leopold,
Steve Montador, Andrew Ferrence and some guy name Mushie Marchment---
what makes Phaneuf so amazing is that he walked right into camp, looked
his mates in the eye, and told em all to get in lie behind him. Brass
balls!Phaneuf is a leader of men. He has that intangible "IT",
that separates the good from the ELITE. The kid is fourth on the Flames
in scoring!

Sutter's ridinghis buckin bronco like he's a ten year
vet;Dion'splaying even strength, PP, PK, and his prescence
on the Calgary blueline is evident. Opposing coaches must game plan for
Phaneuf the same way they game plan for Pronger, Jovanovski, Scott
Stevens, etc.Ipity the forward to wanders across the
trolley tracks with his head down....he plays a nasty, physical style,
and he's doing it against the other team's best players. To say nothing
of his Al Iafrate-likecannon from the point. Phaneuf is playing
the toughest position in the NHL. Many a highly touted DMan prospect
has tried, failed, and washed out of the league. Not Phaneuf. He's got
the pedigree, all world talent, and theintestinal
fortitudeto not only learn the position, but, master it. This kid
will not only be the next captain of the Flames, he will also be a
future Hall of Famer. No bull.

Repeat after me: ".......PHANEUF, PHNAEUF, PHANEUF IS ON FIRE....."
