Sure. However, he failed at his job. It wasn't a small tiny mistake like people make in their daily lives. This was one of the bigguest blunders ever. At the very least, he should have lost his media priviledges. By not taking a hard stance, it basically teaches him nothing and leaves the impression that media members can make mistakes without being reprimanded. - Bruiniak

Well, I've enjoyed Elliott's commentary. I didn't know he did play-by-play. I was watching and immediately felt bad for him; I wasn't confused as I was focused on Phelps.
It's an honest, human mistake...who the heck cares?
At least he didn't scream: "Look at that bastard go!" (which, actually, would have been pretty funny).
