Since your insertion of Panik into a top 6 role, which is not ideal for him either, does nothing to improve the Top 6 from last year., the bottom 6 is STILL not the problem. The top 6 is. Actually, compared to having Ladd or Shaw, it's worse.

So go ahead, put Stanley's big "steal" from last year, a guy who couldn't get out of the AHL with Toronto, in the top 6. Same problem as last year. One line being depended on for way too much of the offense. A mediocre 5-on-5 team.

I will not repeat the statistics or the obvious playoff matchup issue. Not worth the keystrokes at this point.

Well the cap being what it is and the current state of the roster, what else can you do. This is shaping up to be more of a dump/chase roster right now. It will be up to Q to get the MAX out of what he has. The days of the race horse style the Hawks played are gone.

This is what the league wants. A watered down/no dynasty set up where every year some .500 team wins the Cup.
