Wow...nice out there this morning, coffee on the back patio with some peace and quiet. Wife is back in Muskoka for her dad's birthday.

So where were we yesterday with our Nucks conversation?

I think we're still focused on protecting Guance in the expansion draft.

with gaunce I like his play....but what's his ceiling?
He had to up his game to be a 4th line bubble player. Is there more? Is this the ceiling?
(keep in mind he was a gillis draft)

Gaunce needs to pick a side. He thinks he is top 6 but has not proved it at all. He needs to play meaner check a lot harder and tip in some goals. I see him as a stop gap this year if he makes the team at all. Same thing about Pedan and Grenier. All fringe players that don't have a lot of skill.

I deliberately misspell his name so that I won't become too attached to him. My form of asset management.

If I had to choose between Gaunce and Etem I'd definitely choose Etem as he plays a heavier game than Gaunce. Considering they're both bottom six guys on the left side. Although Gaunce can play center.

If Guance comes to camp like RB Michael did at Seahawks camp, it could be interesting.

Yeah. Etem is a much better choice. The 4 th line is a mystery this year. Three jobs there for the taking

A lot more moving parts than we're used to seeing with the Canucks, Benning is building competition in the bottom nine spots. I suspect Horvat takes over the second line center spot this year, he's that much better than Sutter in an offensive role. Sutter is better suited for a defensive assignment but can definitely add some scoring.

The team should be better this year if they stay healthy because of the depth down the middle and the ability to plug holes on the wings if they do get into injury trouble.

I think Bo Sven and JV/Rodin will be one line Sutter Hansen Burrows will be another line I think both lines will score between 45-55 goals and play equal minutes

Very true. Still don't see them winning the coveted President's Trophy next season, however.

If Hansen does well with the twins I'd keep him there and put Eriksson with Horvat and Baertschi, except on the PP. Gives the team more balance IMO.

I just hate seeing all the truly proven offensive guys on one line, we've seen that movie for a decade now.

toughest trophy in professional sports to win! I say they finish with 88 points just out of a playoff spot. That's a 13 point improvement.
