I do not understand why pittsburgh wouldn't be on veseys radar. buffalo/new jersey = major role from the begining (not assured winning). chicago = winning. Toronto/Boston=family. Pittsburgh = major role from the begining AND winning AND he will play left wing to the biggest point getter in recent years and best player in the nhl. he will have a major role, great chance for many points=alot of money next contract (which he wants) AND he have a great chance to get a cup while doing it...

This is assuming he's as studly as what Hardnosed rightly called the hoopla brigade make him out to be. Chicago is in a really bad spot in LW. They played Garbut there on the Toews-Hossa unit for (frank)s sakes! Garbut! Bowman can essentially flat out promise Vesey the opportunity to play there. Something tells me The Old Man isn't gonna do that. Rutherford loves the WB5, and rightfully so, and even though Sheary's not ideal next to Crosby or Malkin, and we don't really know what we have in Wilson, Rutherford's not going to inform a complete unknown at the NHL level that he's gonna play over some guys that cut their teeth last year and helped us win a cup. I think there's a really good chance Vesey would be the second best LW option on this team next year, and possibly even the best if he grows as the season goes and Kunitz continues to decline (this excludes Hagelin who's a given on HBK for now), but I'm glad Rutherford isn't making any promises about roles. I like the spirit of competition that gave birth to the WB5, and I want it to continue even if it means missing out on a guy like Vesey. No gifted spots. Everything must be earned.
